Seeking Someone (CSI:M/RPFS/TWW.)

Note: All the AF fics are unbeta'd and most likely a little rough in places. When the craziness of the month ends, I might come back and edit things :) Any glaringly evil errors can be directed to me in a comment or email, so I can fix them :P

Seeking Someone (CSI:M/RPFS/TWW, Calleigh/Emily/Ainsley. 720 words.)
Follows the other I've written :) Click the tag to find them.

After your last encounter, you don't see her for almost two months. She doesn't call you -- of course, you don't call her either -- and you play your role with a heavy heart. It pains you to imitate her now and it pains you even more when you realise there are little quirks now worked into your portrayal of Calleigh, that didn't exist before you met her. You created her, but she's recreating you now; remoulding you into a truer version of herself.

You've unconsciously picked up her traits, those little differences that you noticed between you, and you use them now without thinking twice. You blame the last night you spent together for the silence between you -- when she brought Ainsley, along with a whole new level of weird, into the already weird enough relationship the two of you share -- because that night, that mistake, seems to have broken your lines of communication.

You want her to call you, but you don't know what you'd say if she did.

Ainsley, on the other hand, called you about a week after the morning where you all awkwardly parted company. You dissuaded her from her idea of another visit, growing hurt and angry when she casually mentioned that she'd spoken to Calleigh the day before.

Later that same day, you ran into Janel while you were out shopping, and found yourself hit with a cascade of both real and imagined memories that left you reeling.

Your life never used to be this strange.

Several days later, while you're on-set, David comes up to you in a break between takes. He comments on the fact that you've seemed distracted lately and asks you if you're okay, and you tell him that you're fine-just-tired as you idly wonder if Horatio's the reason why Calleigh's seemingly too busy to care about you.

This is becoming both an obsession, and ridiculous.

When Ainsley unexpectedly calls again, you answer the phone to hear that she's in town, just for the night, and has no plans. You close your eyes and count to sixty, trying to make a decision, and then agree to meet her for a drink in her hotel bar.

It only takes two drinks before she's opening the door to her room and inviting you in; you both know why you agreed to meet, what tonight was really about. You don't know if she actually wants you, or if she's also searching for Calleigh in you, the way you're seeking Calleigh in her, but you don't care.

When you push her back against the now-closed door and kiss her fiercely, it isn't the same as kissing Calleigh. It isn't the same because she isn't the same, but with the alcohol in your bloodstream she's just about close enough. She kisses you back with equal ferocity, tugging impatiently at the hem of your shirt, pulling it out of the way so she can run her fingers across your skin.

She tastes of bold red wine and the smoky whisky she'd unexpectedly ordered before they left. It floats through your mind that Calleigh hates whisky, but you push the thought away, burying it where it can't bother you.

You stumble together towards the bed, dropping your shirts and skirts along the way; kicking your heels to the side of the room and sliding out of skimpy underwear, until you're pressed against each other, skin to skin.

Her hair tangles with yours as she positions herself above you, kissing you softly before beginning to trail kisses down your body. She pauses to swirl her tongue around your nipple, sucking gently, until you moan her name and reach out to touch her.

You abandon yourself to sensation without focusing on the specifics. Through a haze of passion she's your mirror image, Calleigh's mirror image, and the little differences don't register. You think briefly of how upset you'd be to learn Ainsley and Calleigh slept together without you, but you're still too hurt that she hasn't called you to really care.

You created this, and you can have them in any combination you want.
