David was fast asleep inside the tent beside the lake. Archie on the other hand was not. He didn't feel all that safe inside the thin fabric walls, the air mattress that he was sleeping on wasn't very comfortable either and he was cold because David was hogging the blankets. Then there were the noises. Strange noises for that matter. How could he possibly sleep?!
Archie didn't want to wake up David. He looked too peaceful in his slumber. But the last noise that he heard, well Archie was pretty sure his heart stopped for a second.
"David, David," Archie whispered as he shook David back to consciousness. David stirred and moaned before he wearily replied, "What?!"
"Did you hear that?!" he asked nervously.
"Hear what?!" David questioned into his pillow.
"That noise."
"Maybe it was the River Killer."
"Oh gosh, don't even joke about that."
David chuckled into his pillow. He finally opened his eyes to see Archie sitting up, looking way too nervous. He placed a hand on Archie's back, which made him jump. "Arch, there's no such thing as the River Killer. It's a myth."
"You don't know that."
David couldn't help but laugh at Archie's expense. "What did it sound like?!"
"It was just um a loud bang. Like something fell."
"Did you put the cooler in the car like you said you were going to?!"
"Ummmm, I forgot."
"Some animal probably got to the food then."
"Oh, I'm sorry."
"You don't have to apologize. We'll just go find a grocery store in the morning."
David tugged on Archie's arm. "Just lay down, close your eyes and get some sleep."
Archie did as he was told. He snuggled close to David and drifted off to sleep in his arms.

Title: Grocery Shopping.

Summary: The boys go grocery shopping and Cook needs beer.
Notes: Continuation of the camping fic. Wrote this as part of the fic train over at

The two David's trekked the two miles to the nearest convenience store. They were camping so they refused to use their car and besides the exercise was good for them. They were both pretty exhausted when they finally made it to their destination though.
Once inside Archie grabbed a basket as the two made their way down the first aisle.
"Oh we need this," David said as he tossed a bag of Cheetos into the basket Archie was holding. Archie just rolled his eyes.
They continued going down the aisles, David grabbing things they didn't need and Archie grabbing the things they actually needed and secretly putting some of the things David placed in the basket back.
"We need beer," David informed Archie.
"No we don't."
"Oh right, I need beer. Better?!"
"Kinda but the animals didn't drink your beer, they only ate our food."
"But I have a feeling that some other animal might drink it tonight though," David said with a slight chuckle in his voice. Archie just rolled his eyes yet again.
Archie really didn't have any control when it came to David and his beer so he just walked with him over to the cooler.
"I'll let you have one if you'd like," David said to Archie with a smirk on his face.
"Um, that's alright. You can drink it all."
"Awww, gosh thanks," he teased which made Archie laugh.
They paid for their groceries, David asking Archie where his things were and Archie shrugging like he had no idea but David wasn't buying it, he could see the blush on Archie's cheeks.
While walking back to their campsite, Archie slipped and almost dropped the two bags he was carrying. All David did was laugh at Archie's mishap while carefully carrying his beer.
Later that night, they were sitting around the campfire eating s'mores. David was on his 60th beer. Not really though, Archie lost track after about the 8th one considering how fast David was consuming them. Archie was tired so he went to bed before David. Archie didn't want to leave David alone but David informed him that he'd join Archie as soon as the fire died down. While Archie was laying in the tent, he could have sworn he heard David talking to someone. He just ignored it and blamed it on David's drunken state. What Archie didn't know was David actually was talking to someone. He was talking to a raccoon. Informing the wild animal that they hid their food and there was no chance it was going to drink his beer.
