"God, I love interview days," Allison sighed. "I can't wait to see the Good Day LA people!"
Kris opened one eye to study Allison critically. "Are you always this way?"
"What way?" she asked at the same time as Adam spoke.
"I need coffee..." he moaned, completely exhausted. Adam was used to his day both starting and ending late. Being up at three and four AM did little for his attitude. And his day didn't officially start until he had a cup of coffee, or some Starbucks.
"Yeah, we do!" Allison chimed in, loving the idea. "Maybe, before the van gets anywhere, you guys can talk to them about stopping. As long as... Do you know what you want? They probably won't want to wait too long."
Adam leaned back and eyed Kris, who looked to be sleeping in spite of his earlier comment.
As if he sensed Adam's gaze on him, Kris spoke again, forcing his eyes open and sitting up a little. "She's like a wind-up toy. Where's your winder?" he asked, studying Allison's back.
"You're a retard, man, stop it!" Allison cackled. "You guys want coffee or not. There's a Starbucks right there. It's now or never..."
"Excuse me," Adam spoke for all of them.

Minutes later, they were back in the van. Kris with a Vanilla Latte, Adam with an Espresso and Allison unfortunately with a Peppermint Mocha.
"Mmm...Do you want any? It's so good!" she insisted taking another long sip.
"Why didn't we make her get a Peppermint Hot Chocolate?" Adam mused.
"Dude!" Allison objected, ramming an elbow into his ribs. "Hot chocolate's for kids, man. Peppermint Mochas are a woman's drink..."
"You're sixteen. You are not a woman yet," her mother pointed out from behind her and Allison groaned.
"Now give me a sip. If I'm gonna stay awake with you, I have to have this woman's drink with caffiene..."
Sighing, Allison handed her cup back and leaned against Adam's shoulder. Moms were so lame.
"Want some Vanilla Latte?" Kris asked, offering his cup first to Allison's mom, who declined, and then to Allison, who took it and relished the flavor.
Without needing to ask, she offered it to Adam who took a sip and nodded in approval.
"You three will be good friends," her mom decided. "I hope you go far together."
"We hope so, too," Adam nodded, as Kris thanked her.
Allison sighed again. But this time, she thought that her mom could be pretty okay.
