Freedom

Sometimes it is tempting, for Sakata Gintoki, to act like Zura and think that things would be right in the world if the Amanto were driven out; to take up his sword and bloody his hands and, feeling the joyous pulse of battle coursing through his veins, say ‘This is freedom.’

It is so tempting, when Zura comes by and wheedles him with ( Read more... )

This is cute! ^^ Sentimental but enough humor in it to remind everyone it's Gintama.

This was beautifully written. There's something in the tone that just fits the 'remembrance'/'for old times sake' aspect of their relationship. And the description in the last paragraph -- such a Gintama moment, right there.

Welcome to the fandom! Looking forward to more from you. ^_^*

Oh, thank you :D. I wasn't sure if the last part worked, so your comment made me squee. *blushes* I'm a big fan of your tenipuri stuff, so now I'll have to go raid your Gintama stuff.

i was constantly being reminded of braveheart with a gintama twist...
no, no, it's a good thing. zura, played by a long haired mel gibson (completely wrong for the role but well...) strapped on the torture table, (not really getting tortured because Kondo thinks it's all wrong and Hijikata, who would have done some serious information extraction, got thrown off by Okita's excited ideas) shouting TENCHUU!!!! at the ceiling.
ehem... I got off topic.
i liked it, it's hard to write sentimental gintama and still keep it gintama.

Great writing, and a really nice take on Gintoki and Zura's relationship. Gintoki understands what's really important in life, and your last paragraph captures this part of him very well. ^_^

Hope to see more fic from you in the future!
