I'm a bit too young truly "get" Whitney Houston's full oeuvre; I was the ripe old age of one when her first major album broke and launched her into super-stardom. However, there is no denying that her voice was one of the greatest that music and pop culture had ever seen. This song gives me the absolute chills, both in terms of vocal performance and the amount of life and emotional inflection that she was able to put behind each world (even if she was mourning the loss of Kevin Costner). You were truly amazing, ma'am.
