Title: Out of the Closet Team: Draco Rating/Warnings: G Wordcount: 498 Prompt: Friends and Family Disclaimer: Not mine!
Draco was the first to want to break the news to everyone. Ron kept demurring, bringing up several very good reasons for keeping their relationship secret. But Draco was no stranger to causing trouble and scandal, and it was useless to deny Draco something when he really wanted it. He worried at Ron persistently until Ron gave in simply to shut him up, nervousness rendering him almost incoherent. Luckily, Draco had no such problems. He dragged Ron with him to Malfoy Manor one day out of the blue and announced to his parents without preamble that the red head was his chosen one.
Lucius Malfoy turned his powerful cold glare onto them for a few seconds, but Draco calmly grabbed a tight hold on Ron’s robe, preventing him from fleeing, and waited, meeting his father’s gaze with his own. Then Lucius turned away, muttering that if the rest of the wizarding world had gone to the dogs then it wasn’t much surprise that his own blood was degenerating thus.
Narcissa studied them both with a piercing glare, queenly and composed. “I do hope you know that you haven’t gotten out of giving me a grandchild,” she informed Draco coolly. “There are many potions that will make either of you bear children.”
That made them both flee. “She’s always been scarier than father,” Draco confided to his lover in a whisper, as they both shuddered at the thought of a man bearing a child.
Still, their calm reaction did somewhat bolster Ron’s courage. He was a Gryffindor after all! So he strode into the Burrow, holding hands with Draco, and announced their relationship as confidently as Draco had.
Molly went into hysterics on the spot, as Arthur grabbed his head in horror, praying out loud that he wasn’t going to have to be related, however distantly, to Lucius Malfoy. Once again the pair of young lovers had to flee, mostly afraid their presence would give either Molly or Arthur a coronary.
“I think that went well!” Draco said cheerfully. “I kind of like them already!”
Hermione didn’t even blink when they broke the news, rolling her eyes and muttering that it was high time they turned all that unresolved sexual tension into something productive. Harry laughed, thinking it was a great joke, and simply gaped when they insisted it was true, unable to combine the idea of Ron and Draco and sex all together. (And complaining loudly when the image did manage to come to mind.)
Blaise inquired if they would be interested in threesomes. Pansy received the news gleefully, and seemed disappointed when they told her that no, Hermione wasn’t broken hearted at the news.
All in all, it seemed to be a decent reception of news. Ron resolved to visit his parents again soon, preferably on his own, to reconcile with them. He was really going to miss his mother’s cooking otherwise.
Still, when Draco started undressing with that feral, come-and-get-me-smile…well, it sounded like a fair trade.
