Diane had accused him yet again of having an affair. Gibbs usually laughed at that considering Diane would sleep with just about anything that walked. Right now however he was tired. Tired of her, tired of fighting, really tired of trying. He worked hard, his job had it's tough points and spending a week undercover in Paris with only his wits as a guide was very stressfull. Gibbs had dealt with enough trouble with his partner.
Gibbs had walked into his house to find most of his things gone. The house was empty except for a few things he'd brought into the marriage. The furniture he'd bought was gone, the pictures and paintings on the wall were gone.
Gibbs had turned a full circle before it really hit him. She'd taken everything. He took the stairs two at a time and found the second floor just as bare.
"Sunofabitch!"
The bed was gone. She'd left a table in the corner that was his. He'd bought it at a yard sale long before he met Diane and she had hated it. His clothes were piled on the floor for lack of a dresser.
Diane had cleaned him out. He headed for the kitchen interested to know if she'd left any food. Apparently she felt that anything he had purchased after they married was fair game. That included the food in the fridge, the dishes and the kitchen table.
Back upstairs he changed his clothes and went into the bathroom. He finally got a laugh out of the situation when he noticed the bathroom mirror.
"You fucked her once, and now you can fuck her all you want."
He'd given Diane some credit. He had actually slept with Jen in Paris. That chapter closed the moment he got arrested and she smiled from across the street. She was a great agent but they couldn't work together anymore.
Jen was the only time he'd cheated on Diane. Or anyone for that matter. It was goose and gander at this point. He'd given Diane what she gave him.
couldn't order food, because the phone was cut off. Gibbs lay back on his living room floor and stared at the ceiling. When he met her he wanted to sleep with her. They did, a few times over about a month before she talked him into getting married. Diane was broke and out of work and needed a source of funds quick. She was addicted to shopping and in debt for somewhere around ten thousand dollars. All of this, Gibbs would learn later.
Gibbs had made this bed and would be sleeping on the floor tonight. He gave Diane little attention, taking jobs across the world to avoid the fighting and the obsessive shopping. He liked having sex with her, but he didnt like much else.
Diane had liked the sex, along with his credit cards and the big house, and the freedom to sleep with anyone.
They just didn't like each other. Unless they were having sex, and sometimes that could even end bad.
Gibbs got up and grabbed his wallet and keys. He needed to get some food, call his lawyer and talk to Ducky.
