Summary: While travelling to Hokkaido to film a special program, KAT-TUN gets snowed in.
Junno shivered from the cold as he watched the outside world whiz by from the window of the tour bus. The group was headed to Hokkaido to film a special program, and it was just starting to snow. The air was cold but thankfully it was warm on the bus. Junno looked around at the other members; Kame was asleep in the seat beside his, Ueda was reading something, and Koki was playing a game with Nakamaru. None of them knew the contents of this special program, but Junno was at least glad to say that none of them were AD’s, having to ride in that convertible in the middle of winter. That was quite horrible in his experience, and he was sure that Kame, and even Jin and Nakamaru agreed.
The bus ride was proving to be quite boring, as he had nothing to keep him occupied. His bag that held his games wasn’t in reach, and he didn’t have anybody to talk to with his “bus buddy” being asleep. Junno sighed, looking longingly at his bag. It was on the other side of Kame, and there was no way for him to get it without waking him up. Junno sighed, turning his gaze back to the window and watching as the snow fell.
“KAT-TUN-san, we have arrived at the location we will be stopping at for the night,” a voice said over the buses PA. Junno startled awake, unaware that he had fallen asleep. He straightened up, looking for the source of the voice.
“But weren’t we supposed to go straight there?” Koki asked from near the back.
“Yeah,” Ueda put in. “You guys said we’d keep going through the night.”
“Ah yes,” the voice responded. “The snow is getting quite bad, so we have no choice but to stop for the night for safety precautions.”
“Thank you,” Kame called back, now awake and collecting his things. Junno stood up as well, stretching out his stiff limbs and grabbing his own bag, following Kame off the bus as the other three trailed behind him, muttering their thanks to the driver.
“Taguchi-san is with Kamenashi-san in room twelve,” the staff started directing. “Ueda-san and Tanaka-san in room twenty, and Nakamaru-san in room seventeen.”
Nakamaru sighed, obviously less than enthusiastic about spending the night without a roommate. As soon as Junno stepped off the bus, the blowing snow made it nearly impossible to see even a few feet in front of them. The cold bit at his cheeks as he suddenly felt a body huddling increasingly close to his. Before he could turn around and see who it was, a voice spoke in his ear.
“Don’t move, you’re a good block from the wind and it’s too cold,” the voice that he recognized as Kame’s said playfully. Junno shivered, and he wasn’t so sure that it was from the cold, as the youngest member’s mouth was dangerously close to his neck, making him feel flush. Junno cleared his throat.
“I have to move if we want to get inside,” he pointed out, taking a step towards the hotel. Junno laughed as Kame whined slightly, covering his face.
“Man up Kazuya, a little snow won’t hurt you,” Junno teased with a grin.
“Shut up,” Kame huffed, pulling his wool hat farther down over his ears. Junno laughed again as he walked through the doors of the small hotel, grateful for the warmth of the lobby. Kame entered shortly after, sending him a small glare as he blew on his hands for warmth. Junno shook his head, brushing some snow off his coat.
Once they got checked in, it was quite late so they went their separate ways to the rooms, agreeing to meet early the next morning to continue travelling. Junno set his bag down by the door, tapping his foot impatiently. Kame held the key to their room, and Junno wasn’t sure where he went so he couldn’t exactly get inside the room until Kame came back. Junno frowned, wondering if Nakamaru, Ueda or Koki were doing anything, considering he couldn’t exactly stand out in the hallway until Kame got back. He had to consider that he may be disturbing other people, and the fact that he could be recognized. Junno started down the hallway to see if Koki was in his room when he saw Kame heading in the opposite direction towards their room.
“What took you so long?” Junno complained as Kame went to open the door. “And where were you?”
“I was having coffee with Tat-chan,” he replied. “Why didn’t you just let yourself in?”
“Because you have the only key,” Junno huffed. Kame gave him an odd look.
“The door was unlocked though, didn’t you think to try and open it?” Junno fell silent, feeling stupid. Of course he had just assumed that it was locked and didn’t even attempt to open it. Kame gave him a cheeky grin, picking up his bag and entering the room. Kame paused right in the entryway, causing Junno to bump into him.
“What is it?” He frowned, seeing Kame’s slightly irked expression.
“They must have gotten something wrong, they put us in a room with only one bed.” Junno peered in, seeing that it was true.
“What are we going to do then?” Junno asked hesitantly. In reality, he wouldn’t have minded sharing that bed with him; maybe even preferred it, but Kame probably thought differently.
“I can take the floor,” Kame volunteered with a sigh. Junno’s eyes widened in surprise; had Kame really just offered to sleep on the floor? Junno wasn’t sure whether he should be relieved or offended.
“Okay, if you really don’t mind.”
Once they were changed, Junno settled into the bed after giving Kame a blanket and a couple of pillows.
“Are you sure you don’t want to take the bed?” Junno asked with a frown. “It might get really cold there; we wouldn’t want you getting sick. I don’t mind sharing.” Kame laughed.
“It’s fine Junno, I’ll be okay here. I don’t mind.” Junno hid his pout, unsure of why he was so disappointed with that answer. He didn’t understand why Kame seemed so against the idea of them sharing a bed.
“Good night Junno,” he heard a sleepy yawn as Kame went to shut off the lights.
“Night Kazuya.”
~
Junno was awoken later in the middle of the night when he felt something moving in the bed next to him. He had a difficult time deciphering if he was actually awake, or if he was in some sort of dream.
“Kazu is that you?” He mumbled sleepily as a warm body slipped under the covers.
“Shh,” a voice murmured. “I’m just cold, go back to sleep.” Junno’s stomach fluttered at the sound of Kame’s voice, heavy with sleep.
“I hope you don’t mind,” he added in a whisper.
“Of course I don’t mind,” Junno yawned as Kame snuggled in closer. He almost wanted to snuggle back, but he feared that it would be too weird. Before he knew it, his eyes fell shut and he was asleep again.
~
“Guys wake up, we got snowed in!” The volume of Koki’s voice nearby awoke Junno abruptly.
“What are you guys doing?” Ueda asked curiously, and even with his eyes shut Junno knew he was smirking. Junno cracked his eyes open, seeing the two of them standing there side by side, matching expressions of mixed surprise, and something else Junno couldn’t decipher.
“What do you mean?” Junno asked, voice cracking from lack of use. “And how did you get in here?” Junno could have sworn that Kame had locked the door before they went to sleep.
“The manager gave us an extra key so we could come tell you guys while he tried to make other arrangements.” Koki told him, dangling the key in the air. Junno nodded, rubbing at his eyes.
“Kazuya sure looks comfy,” Ueda noted with a chuckle. It was only then that Junno noticed it was warmer than usual. He sat up and turned his head to look, and Kame was still snuggled up close to his back, arms over his head and still asleep. It was a funny sight, and quite adorable. Junno shook the thought off, face heating up as he realized that it was probably an odd image to see them in bed together. He had honestly completely forgotten that Kame was even there.
“It isn’t what it looks like,” Junno attempted nonchalance, yawning.
“What does it look like?” Koki asked with a smirk. Ueda started giggling as Junno flushed brighter.
“Where’s Yuichi?” Junno asked, attempting to change the subject as he started poking Kame, trying to wake him up.
“He’s still in his room, we haven’t checked in on him yet.” Junno nodded, poking Kame again. The latter was a heavy sleeper. Kame flipped to his other side, exhaling deeply as he snuggled deeper into the pillows. Junno noticed the lack of warmth the second Kame moved.
“Wake up,” Junno said, continuing to poke his side. Kame muttered something unintelligible and rubbed at his eyes, stretching in place.
“Apparently we’re snowed in,” Junno said in a low voice as Kame sat up slightly, looking at him with an adorable sleepy expression. He groaned slightly, sitting up fully and ruffling his hair.
“So what are supposed to do then?” He asked. “If we can’t leave, then what, will filming be postponed?”
“It seems so,” Koki nodded. “At least until we can make other arrangements. Now can you explain what’s going on here and why you were cuddling Junno?” Junno’s eyes widened, surprised by Koki’s sudden bluntness. He wondered how Kame would respond.
“What are you talking about?” He asked smoothly. “I got cold on the floor, so I joined Junno on the bed, is something wrong with that?”
“No,” Ueda laughed. “Jeez Junno I can’t believe you made your boyfriend sleep on the floor.” Junno’s heart sped up as he started waving his hands.
“He offered,” Junno said loudly, not seeming to pick up on the teasing tone in Ueda’s voice.
“Must you two be so childish?” Kame asked, sounding impatient.
“You aren’t saying it’s not true,” Koki pointed out, eyes widening as Ueda snickered. Kame rolled his eyes.
“Just go find Yuichi and tell him. We’ll get dressed.” Koki gave them an odd look before tugging on Ueda’s arm and leaving. As soon as the door shut behind them, Junno turned to Kame with a frown.
“Why didn’t you say it wasn’t true?” He asked, unsure of what kind of answer he would get. Kame shrugged.
“I didn’t hear you denying it either,” he laughed. “It doesn’t really matter though, does it? Even if it was true.” Junno’s breath hitched in surprise.
“What do you mean by that?” He inquired quietly.
“I’m not entirely sure,” Kame laughed again. Was that a nervous habit? “Maybe it means that I wouldn’t mind if it was true.” Junno continued to stare at him, feeling a mixture of confusion, happiness, and doubt. Kame turned to face him.
“I don’t think I would mind either,” he responded after a few moments of silence. Kame continued to look at him, making Junno feel slightly unnerved by the heated, intent gaze. Suddenly it wasn’t so cold anymore.
“Uh,” Junno swallowed as Kame got closer. Junno knew what was coming and he was frozen to the spot, unable to move.
“Don’t speak,” Kame told him, closing the distance between them more and more every second. Junno was increasingly aware of how hot his face was and how fast his heart was beating.
It was a sudden soft touch when Kame’s lips met his, making his stomach flutter. The touch Kame had on his arm felt electrifying. Junno wanted it to continue longer than it had, but Kame pulled back.
“I’m not sure why I did that,” he said a few moments later.
“I’m glad you did,” Junno replied, suddenly feeling brave. “That means that I can do it too.” He didn’t give Kame a chance to reply before he closed the distance again, pressing their lips together with more force than Kame had. It didn’t take long for Kame to respond and try to stick his tongue into Junno’s mouth. He felt Kame shifting to more of an upright kneeling position so he could reach Junno’s height more easily. Junno felt Kame pin his arm on the bed as he maneuvered himself around, attempting to take control of the kiss. It didn’t take much effort on Kame’s part; Junno was almost putty in his hands. Junno fell back, looking up at Kame as they separated to get more comfortable. Kame crawled on top of him, straddling his waist as he continued the kiss again. It wasn’t until then that Junno noticed that Kame had lost his shirt in the process, and that his skin was extremely hot and close to his own. He reached up with the hand that wasn’t pinned down, and started moving it over Kame’s shoulders and down his torso, clawing at his back lightly. Kame groaned slightly and shuddered under his touch, deepening the kiss more. Junno was thrilled to have elicited that kind of reaction from him. Junno continued to run his hands over his firm abs, shuddering in delight as Kame started kissing his neck, occasionally biting down.
“Kazu,” Junno gasped when he bit down on a particularly sensitive spot near his collar bone.
“Shh,” Kame silenced him with his lips. Junno was finding it increasingly difficult to breathe properly, but he didn’t want to stop. That was the last thing he wanted. Kame’s hand paused over his groin, pressing down slightly. Junno groaned, the pressure making him shiver in delight. He was craving more contact, but he wasn’t sure how to get that with his hands pinned, and Kame’s busy.
He couldn’t explain it. Junno knew it was going fast, too quickly for comfort, but he didn’t mind. Somehow with Kame, it felt right. It felt good. Junno had never actually professed the feelings he held for Kame, but somehow they both knew. How they knew, he wasn’t sure. But it was good to know that his feelings were returned. If making out wasn’t a depiction of that, he wasn’t sure what was.
“Are you guys dressed yet? We thought that maybe we could have a fun snow day if we can’t get to Hokkaido~” Kame and Junno couldn’t separate fast enough as Koki barged in again, with Ueda and a sleepy looking Nakamaru in tow. Junno’s eyes widened as Kame maneuvered himself back to sitting normally, both of them breathing heavily.
“It looks like they’re having their own kind of fun,” Ueda said with wide eyes. Junno was sure his face was beet red; he could not have been more embarrassed. He grabbed one of the pillows from behind him, trying to nonchalantly hide his arousal.
“Shut up,” Kame said lightly, standing up unsteadily. “That sounds like fun, go get dressed and we’ll be out in a couple of minutes.” Koki just turned around and left without a word, leaving Ueda and Nakamaru standing there in a daze. After looking between the two of them with an unknown expression, Ueda shrugged and pulled Nakamaru out by his arm. After the door closed, Junno groaned and fell back against the pillows as Kame went to put on a clean shirt from his bag.
“We should’ve known that was going to happen,” he said, voice muffled by the pillow that he put over his face. Kame sighed.
“It’s not as if it matters,” he reiterated. Junno lifted the pillow from his face and stared at Kame, who was now already dressed.
“It kind of does matter,” Junno mumbled. “Our band members just walked in on us making out, possibly about to do more!”
“Who cares?” He chided. “Besides, they’ll get over it. Now are you coming outside?” Junno peered downwards to the pillow he held in his lap, smiling sheepishly.
“Uh in a bit, I need to take care of something first…”
“Do you want some help with that?” Kame asked with a raised eyebrow, smirking. Junno turned red again, gripping the pillow tighter over his lap.
“What, n-no!” He stumbled, looking downwards in attempt to hide his face.
“Okay suit yourself,” Kame laughed loudly, going to grab his coat. “Don’t say I didn’t offer. Meet us outside when you’re done then.” He winked before closing the door behind him.
~
Kame looked up at the sky, reveling in the peace of the moment. He was just starting to build a fort when Junno came out, wearing his fluffy coat. Kame watched as he passed right by Nakamaru and Koki who were having a snowball fight, and headed straight his way while tugging at his black gloves. Kame paused, pushing hair out of his face. It was still quite cold, but the sky was clear.
“Hey there,” Kame grinned. “Did you have fun?” Junno’s face began turning slightly red as he stuttered a bit.
“Jeez,” he complained. “Don’t tease me about that!”
“Right sorry,” Kame laughed, shaking his head as he bent over to continue his fort. The silence didn’t last long as Junno suddenly yelped in surprise. Kame looked up to see him rubbing snow off the back of his neck with a grimace, and Koki doubled over laughing while Nakamaru looked flustered.
“Sorry,” Nakamaru called awkwardly. “That was meant for Koki.”
“It’s okay,” Junno grinned, cheekily. “This just means that I can get you back.” Before Kame could blink, Junno was forming a snowball and then throwing it at Nakamaru. The snowball hit his chest, almost knocking him backwards with the sheer force of it. Both Koki and Kame burst out laughing as Junno grinned triumphantly.
“He got you good Yuichi!” Koki yelled, continuing to laugh.
“Wait,” Junno said. “Where’s Uepi?” Kame looked around, having not noticed the lack of the oldest member.
“I’m not too sure,” he answered with a frown. “I could have sworn he was here a couple of minutes ago.”
“That’s odd,” Junno scrunched his nose, making Kame notice how adorable he looked in his wool hat, hair sticking out slightly from underneath. Kame just nodded, averting his gaze to what was built of his fort.
“So anyway,” Junno grinned again. “Do you need help with your fort?”
“Sure,” Kame laughed. “You can start on the other side.”
The two of them worked in silence that was occasionally interrupted by Koki and Nakamaru’s snowball fight. They patted down snow, making it look more and more like a fort and make it taller. Kame felt like a little kid again on a snow day. He used to love those days when it would snow and school would be cancelled, so he stayed home and played in the snow. It wasn’t often that they could relax like this and just play, and it was really nice for a change. Kame looked at Junno, who was attempting to even out a corner with a very intent expression. Kame remembered back to that morning, face heating up slightly. He considered that he may have been a little too nonchalant about the other members walking in on them, but he really hadn’t thought it was a big deal. None of them mentioned it to him when he went outside, and it seemed as though everything was normal. Kame found it weird that none of them seemed even the slightest bit surprised, and that nobody was prying. He was glad, but at the same time he wondered what was going to happen, Junno and him weren’t even anything official yet.
Junno stood up straight, stretching his arms towards the sky.
“It looks good,” he said with a grin. “It’ll serve as great protection from the wrath of Koki and Yuichi!” Kame nodded, grinning as he sat down behind their fort. Junno visibly shivered, sitting down next to Kame. The silence felt peaceful as they sat side by side, staring up at the clear sky. If it wasn’t for the wind biting at his cheeks and the yells of his other band members, he would say it was really relaxing.
“It’s cold,” Junno stated quietly shivering again for emphasis, pulling his scarf tighter. Kame chuckled, moving in closer and leaning his head on Junno’s shoulder.
“What are you doing?” Junno asked, shifting his position to get more comfortable.
“You said you were cold,” Kame shrugged slightly. “So I’m snuggling.” Junno coughed, not saying anything for a few moments.
“Isn’t this really sudden?” He asked randomly, turning his head to face Kame.
“Is what too sudden?”
“This,” Junno gestured. “I mean we never even confessed to having feelings for each other or anything and suddenly we’re making out and snuggling in the snow? Where is all of this lovey-dovey stuff coming from?” Kame sat up slightly, brushing snow from himself as he did so.
“I don’t know,” he responded slowly. “But I do know that for a while, I’ve liked you Junno. I just didn’t know how to say it.” Junno exhaled deeply, watching the smoke billowing out.
“I like you too,” Junno said shyly.
“I think that’s better,” Kame grinned. “Don’t you?” Junno nodded, flushed despite the cold weather. As the thought set in, Kame’s chest fluttered with excitement for their now known feelings. It came about in a really odd way, but Kame couldn’t have been happier. Kame shuffled closer again, getting his face close to Junno’s, whose breathing became irregular. Kame was practically straddling Junno’s hips when the latter’s eyes widened. His mouth opened to say something when suddenly what felt like a snowball hit the back of his head. Kame paused, shaking snow out of his hair.
“Watch out,” Junno said sheepishly.
“You’ll pay for that Koki!!” Kame yelled, standing up and chasing after him. The man in question was laughing as he fled to where Nakamaru and now Ueda were standing.
“Uepi where were you?” Junno asked with a laugh, coming up behind Kame.
“I was getting breakfast so I could avoid being hit by these nit wits,” he answered, rolling his eyes and gesturing to Koki and Nakamaru. Junno chuckled.
“Seems like a good plan, we both got hit by them.
“That’s the point though,” Koki protested. “It’s a snowball fight, the main idea is to hit people with snowballs.”
“Okay,” Ueda smirked, putting on his gloves and picking up some snow. He formed it into a ball, and threw it at an unsuspecting Koki.
“Oi,” he said loudly, wiping snow from his face. “You’ll pay for that Tat-chan!” Ueda took that as a cue to start running. Koki dashed after him, attempting to pick up some snow at the same time. Unfortunately that caused him to trip, and wind up face first in the snow.
“At least there’s snow everywhere!” Junno laughed loudly. “Or else that would have really hurt~” Koki ignored that comment, getting up again and continuing to chase after Ueda.
“It’s on!” Koki yelled, laughing as he attempted to hit Ueda. It didn’t take long for Koki to catch up and tackle Ueda to the ground, sweeping snow all over the oldest member. Ueda yelled something unintelligible, spitting out snow and laughing as he attempted to push Koki off of him.
“Now would be a good time to go hide in the fort,” Junno whispered in his ear, making him shiver at the contact of his hot breath on Kame’s neck. Kame nodded as Nakamaru ran off to try and help Koki, who was receiving a face wash from Ueda. Kame turned around and followed Junno back the direction they had come, blushing slightly when Junno reached back and interlocked their fingers, pulling him slightly so they were walking side by side.
“I like this,” Junno said, and Kame could practically hear the smile in his voice without seeing it. “I like the feeling of ‘us’ even though it hasn’t been here long.”
“I agree,” Kame nodded. “I like it too.”
Once they were a fair distance away from the others, Junno turned around, halting their walking. Kame looked up at Junno, seeing something similar in his eyes that he had seen that morning. Kame was sure he was blushing brightly, but his gaze didn’t waver from Junno’s. The latter closed the distance between them with no words, brushing their lips together softly at first, then with more force. It was easy for Junno to gain access to his mouth, because Kame wasn’t exactly thinking straight. When Junno pulled away, his head was spinning and it was taking a lot just to remain standing.
“I like the effect I have on you,” Junno said breathlessly, smirking. “I’ve never seen you like this before,” he mumbled, reaching his hand forward and lightly touching Kame’s cheek. Kame shook his head, avoiding Junno’s stare.
“I was having quite an effect over you this morning too, don’t forget that,” he pointed out with a chuckle. Junno interlaced their fingers again, and they continued walking.
“Yeah,” he sighed. “I guess we have that kind of effect on each other.” Kame laughed.
“Yeah I guess so.”
~
Despite the cold, they stayed outside for the majority of the day, playing like children. After a little while, Junno and Kame had went to join the snow fight and all of them were thoroughly frozen and wet by mid-afternoon. At that point, they had all decided it would be a good idea to go inside, get changed, and have some hot chocolate. Luckily the hotel had room service, and the management was willing to pay for anything they wanted as long as it wasn’t too extravagant. Junno jumped on the bed as Kame picked up the phone, planning to order something to drink.
“Are you hungry?” Kame asked before dialing the lobby. Junno shook his head.
“Not really, just hot cocoa is good.” Kame nodded, waiting for the indication to order. Junno lay back on the freshly made bed, staring up at the ceiling. He let out a content sigh stretching his arms upwards. He could not have been happier.
Once Kame set the phone down, Junno looked at him.
“Ne, should we do something official?” He asked. Kame leaned against the desk in the room, sending him a questioning glance.
“What do you have in mind?” Junno crossed his legs, sitting up straighter.
“Kamenashi Kazuya, will you be my boyfriend?” He asked with a quirky grin. Kame let out a breathy laugh, shaking his head.
“Of course, I accept Taguchi Junnosuke,” Kame mimicked playfully, hopping onto the bed next to him. Junno wrapped his arm around Kame in a sort of side hug, leaning his head on the latter’s shoulder.
“I’m happy,” he murmured, nuzzling his head slightly. Kame nodded.
“I am too.”
There was a knock on their hotel room door, and it opened before either of them could respond.
“I hope we aren’t disturbing anything,” Koki grinned, entering with a bowl of popcorn and Nakamaru and Ueda behind him.
“I recalled that you guys had the best TV out of all our rooms, mind if we chill here for a bit?”
“Aren’t all the TV’s the same?” Kame asked with a laugh.
“They all look the same,” Koki said, pointing the remote at him. “But this one works better.” Kame shook his head as they got comfortable.
“We weren’t watching this TV though were we?” Junno asked, almost a whisper near Kame’s ear. Kame shook his head.
“We weren’t,” he mouthed. “But I guess they wanted to keep an eye on us or something after this morning.” Junno shook his head, laughing silently as Koki flipped through the channels.
“Hey it’s Koyama!” Nakamaru pointed as he passed by a news channel.
“Yeah yeah,” Koki laughed slightly. “And Sakurai might be here somewhere too. It is generally the time for news programs.” Nakamaru rolled his eyes, averting his gaze back to the TV. Junno snuggled deeper into the pillows, watching as Koki flipped through channel after channel.
“Just pick something!” Ueda groaned exasperatedly. “Just pick anything!”
“Now Tat-chan don’t be impatient,” Koki scolded lightly. “This takes time.” Ueda chucked a pillow at Koki, almost spilling his popcorn. Watching them bicker, Junno somehow knew that’s how it was supposed to be.
Despite being snowed in, they both knew that this was the best trip ever.
