Title: Last Dance.
Author: Cairnsy
Fandom: Spin City
Rating: PG.
Challenge: Carter Heywood (Michael Boatman) / Mike Flaherty (Michael J. Fox) for antychan

Mike is drunk and he knows it, but it's also the only reason why he is letting Carter lead so it can't be all that bad. Mike is used to doing all the leading when it comes to dancing, used to doing all the spinning that never, ever seems to stop. Here, Carter spins and Mike just hangs on, and it's a nice change that he thinks he might rather like. He's not quite drunk enough to admit that, but another few drinks will probably do it. Until then, he confesses to other things as they whirl and twirl and occasionally dance, and Carter listens because he's good like that - really, really good like that. He bitches about how his relationships never work out because he never gets to stop spinning, he moans about how NONE of them were ever all that good in bed, anyway. And Mike listens, and commiserates, and says all the right things such as how spinning isn't everything and how he's sure Mike is very good in bed and that they were the ones at fault. Carter is drunk as well, but Mike needs him to be that way because then it doesn't feel as though he's losing control but delegating it. Besides, if Mike had been a touch more sober then he wouldn't have done what he does next, and Mike finds that he likes Carter's soft lips against his own and those elegant arms wrapped around his waist. Mike likes kissing Carter back as well, and so he does it once, twice, three times. Possibly four, but Mike's rather proud that he managed to count that high in the state he is in. There is a murmur against his ear that sounds something like 'are you sure?', but right now there is nothing that Mike wants more than to remember what it's like to lie in the arms of someone who feels like Carter does right now.

At least, that's how he justifies it. The sex turns out to be pretty damn good as well.
