You know, during the first volumes of FY, I could actually picture Tamahome/Hotohori, as a kind of love-hate fling -much along the lines of Kaiba/Joey, had Kaiba had a crush on Mai.

Ah well.

I loved the dreamy mood of this, and how this ficlet's dreamy more than sad or melancholic. Miaka isn't ingored, either, but rather it's made clear that Hotohori can't compete with her (or is it the other way around?).

Uhhh, yeah.

FY was my first fandom, and Hotohori my fave, so yeah. You know, it's funny, FY was before my slash days, so I could never really imagine it in FY (I'm actually kind of asexual about my Yuugi, actually). But upon watching it again this year (inducting a new friend into it), I found myself drawn to Nakago/Hotohori pre-war stuff, mostly slave!fic.

But this...how sad. It's so hopeless, yet tangible. Hotohori always makes me sad and...I dunno. Sorry for him.

...can I tempt you into writing some Nakago/Hotohori?

Oh, I wish I could. I only really know the fandom in short bursts, I've never read the entire manga and really only bits specific to Keisuke because I am an absolute waste of space when characters I love get killed off in bulk, and when I first got interested in the series before it was available here in manga/anime form I had major love for Hotohori. So pretty, so very pretty. Then, I found out about how they practically all die, and I skipped out pretty much on the series when it did eventually end up in NZ. Next tinme in Borders I might skim the non-evildeath! chapters and see if I can gleam enough to write something ^_^. Am the biggest sook who ever sooked, cannot stand the death of characters I love at all,/i> in any series.
