I recently finished Crisis Core, ended up trading in a defective cable yesterday at GameStop for Dirge of Cerebus, and bought the CC guidebook for CC mostly because of the Zack poster included. I am dying for some FF7 fic. Don't get me wrong, I love Twig's ALHR, but I want something new...

I've been in a Crisis Core fic mood myself lately. After finding some treasures, I thought I'd share.

Deeper Understanding has to be the best Crisis Core fic I've read, like ever. Link goes to the first chapter, but there's 12 chapters of absolutely heavenly smutty goodness. I can't stop squeeing over the Sephiroth x Genesis x Angeal x Zack dynamic. It's so hot. *fans self*

First Class club is also another super hot fic. Also Sephiroth x Genesis x Angeal x Zack and NC-17.

After reading these, I'm starting to actually like Genesis! *gasp* Silly poetry quoting bishounen.

The Madness of Angels is a sort of retelling of Crisis Core, with Angeal x Zack goodness. It's a WIP but the writer's pretty good about updating.

And since you asked about Tseng, here's a bit of self-pimpage. He's one of my favorite characters, though I mostly write him in the Advent Children era. May I recommend you to Mission Report, which I hope is a short, but funny, look at the Turks. If you check on my ff.net profile, you'll find more Tseng stuff.

And I would love to take a look at your Tseng fics. Super busy right now helping new students but these'll probably be my "take-a-break-from-insanity" in the upcoming weeks.

I know, Genesis is so annoying with all his quotes in the game. But I'm getting to have a better idea of his character and his desire to rival Sephiroth. Unfortunately I think Sephiroth never saw him in the same light. Much sadness. But he's gotta have some super good qualities if Angeal is sticking to him through thick and thin, right?

And I'm surprisingly finding enough interest in myself to start writing fic for Crisis Core. Perhaps I'll even post them... someday, LOL.

Good point about Angeal... I still think it's super weird to accept the concept of Sephiroth having friends... it's kind of awkward, too, how little we really see of any evidence as such. I mean, I've had in mind Zack's persistence at friendship in mind for ages (mostly because of Twig's fic, lol) but it was a much more abstract concept and a different sort of circumstances.

I would LOVE to see you post CC fic! The game has inspired me back into fandom. Obsessively so. I dropped way too much money on five of the Play Arts figures, though I love them dearly... (And Reno is sooo hitting on Tifa all the time. *snicker*) I'm in the process of writing a revamped fairytale, too. I've said my goal is to finish before next Monday, so I better get back to work on that...
