Um, oh! Right... Sam/Dean, pre-slash into the slashy goodness, meta fic. Dean reads Wincesty fanfic to find out why everyone thinks he's the bottom. This goes kinda AU from The Monster At The End Of This Book, so if you haven't seen it, WHY HAVEN'T YOU SEEN SEASON FOUR YET YOU HEATHEN??!!!?!!?!!
This fic is SOOOOO GOOOOD on so many levels. It's so very in character, incredibly believable (yes, I can totally believe Dean would read fanfic and embark on a sexual safari with Sam to prove why he should totally be the top in the wacky made-up world of fanfiction), and is perfectly paced too. The author didn't drag things out too long before getting to the slashy goodness, nor did she rush in with merely a passing thought to the whole gay-incest hurdle Sam and Dean must cross (I guess Sam's side of the angst wasn't really shown in a lot of detail, but then the whole story is in Dean's pov, and I feel there's enough service done to Sam's misgivings given that), and it's just SO well written.
The dialogue between Sam and Dean is DELICIOUS!! (And I can never read the word delicious without thinking of all the delicious links to delicious fics found at the delicious website... Off topic?? Right, sorry! *ahem*) The one liners and bantery goodness and getting cranky with each other and the brotheryness we should all expect from a GOOD Sam/Dean or Sam and Dean fic does NOT disappoint.
Also the casefic side of things is also incredible, with the whole breaking of the seals and hunting of Lilith. And the ending to that is all twisty and on a megascale of 1 to eternafuckinghuge, it ranks pretty damn high! And it was written BEAUTIFULLY, and the DETAIL was spellbinding, and the CLARITY of the visual in my head... Just - FUCK! SOOO good.
I haven't posted in ages, I know, SORRY! I'm getting so behind.... I keep devouring reading fic and memsing the awesome stuff to post about later, and never getting around to it... But THIS fic just HAD to be commented on RIGHT THE FUCK NOW (seriously, I JUST finished reading it myself), because it is MADE OF AWESOME. Seriously, don't believe me?? Go read it! Prove me wrong! I dare you!
