Summary: Francie's dead. However, she is also not dead. Confused yet? She's right there with ya.
So, not to be too opinionated or anything, but the series finale is officially dead to me. Not only did it kill off a bunch of cool people (well, okay, all the cool people had already been dropping off like flies before then), but then other people revived or kept evading death and the main plot? Bah, of course that doesn’t need to be resolved too much. (In my humble opinion, that’s what happened, at least.) But well, I guess that’s what fanfiction’s for. And not only seeing a minor character like Francie written for, but seeing it written well and like this? Yeah, okay, I’m definitely good with that.
Ever read something and then you almost got a tear in your eye because it gave you hope? Yeah, well, that’s what this will do for you. Francie wakes up, realizes that last she checked she was probably dead, is asked to relay a message to Sydney after this mishap, and then realizes…it’s already 2007. Somehow. Then she has to actually convince Sydney that she’s, well, her and not a double, and then things go from there. Francie, of course, doesn’t know about the CIA’s workings or Rambaldi or anything, so seeing her talking about Sydney, Vaughn, Jack, Will, and all the others without knowing these particular details and drawing conclusions after the fact is absolutely hilarious and awesome. In fact, her voice in the entire thing is full of win. Oh, her political commentary.
The biggest thing, though, is the end. It just leaves you with this…thing. Because if anything, so many of those people that had their lives cut short deserve a second chance. Just amazing, great voice, great ideas and what-ifs, and yes. Done babbling, go read.

Well, he staggers back like I had slapped him in the face. Francie, he says, and even though he was basically just in shock, it creeped me out because he obviously knew who I was. I am sure we never met. Positive. Who are you? I demanded.
He didn't answer me. Instead he sort of slumped against the wall and said, The sample in the file, it wasn't her, it was who they wanted her to become.
Whatever that means.
