Uhm, I suppose I should start with the fact that this fic was actually labeled Seimei/Ritsuka. I’m incredibly dense but I do have a nose for pairings, and…yeah, I didn’t get the pairing vibe at all. Actually, that’s been my reaction to most Seimei/Ritsuka fic I’ve found: “…wait, it’s supposed to be incest?” So if you read it and think otherwise, it’s probably just my interpretation. But in the meantime. Seimei, on Ritsuka, Soubi, and the fragility of many things.
There’s just something about the writing. The imagery and symbolism works, and isn’t too overbearing. Bonus points. And the imagery itself lingers and is pretty strong. The characterization is also solid. There’s variety with Ritsuka, there’s various sides of Soubi, and Seimei, as usual, is in a class all on his own, and the author completely grabs that. So definitely give this a go - I thought it captured the intricacies of their interactions in a nicely done way.
