The use of the second person POV is really well-done here, and it's so difficult to pull off, but it's so right for this story. It really summons up the sort of detached perplexedness Veronica feels, allows you to get her thoughts without having to analyze them too much.
This bit:
So you slide in, put your right bunny to the gas pedal, and start off into the night. Without a word from either side.
is so great. Sad and funny and incredibly visual.
I also love this part:
You have no idea what’s wrong with you. It’s the middle of the night and you’re on some lunatic coffee date with Logan Fuckstick Echolls

And this!
the corner of his mouth curls up ever so slightly in the beginnings of a smile you never thought you’d want to see again.Oh, it just made me wiggle with how beautifully it was written. Not just that it was a smile that she never thought she'd see again, but the fact that she never thought she WANTED to see it. So well-expressed,

Um. Wow. You know the Comment of the Week award? Well you get my Comment of EVER award. Thank you so much for the lovely compliments, coming from someone as insanely talented as you (not to mention someone who throws in a shout-out to great books that usually only I have hears of in her owns stories), it just blows my mind. Thanks so much for the review.
Thank you! And I absolutely adore your icon. (Totally random thought, but did you ever see the SNL where they had Mick Jagger and Keith Richards doing Point-Counterpoint and Richards used his own version of that line?)
I love this. Partly b/c I loved AEFC but the idea was brilliant and realistic! And I pretty much would ask for more, but it doesnt sound like there will be more. It was a beautiful one shot anyway.
