Comparison Intro Stuff

Having some issues making a decision, so this is me playing with personalities and scenarios. As they say, if you throw enough crap at a wall, some of it's bound to stick sometime. You'll notice there are some similarities between each one, but with personalities switched between the characters involved. Anyway, onwards we go.

I have to admit, my immediate reaction was "what is with this family and "pantsu"?"

I kinda prefer playwriter!Drew. He seems pretty outgoing and like he'd be fun to have a conversation with, or at least stand by while he says things that make other people look at him in horror. The coach!Drew is also good, this is just personal preference. And wondering if he's going to bring up panties in the actual game.

... *dumps lukewarm water over him*

I switched personalities from Drew to his brother between ficlets. Other than that, who knows. He may, may not, it depends on what 'version' I end up using.

He'd be a coach in either version, but in the first he has a stronger motivation to write plays (doesn't like his job), while the second doesn't quite as much. My biggest issue is working a conflict into him that isn't shallow or repetitive.

Ahhh, got it. What do you mean by a conflict that isn't "shallow or repetitive"?

A conflict that isn't shallow or repetitive, ie, it isn't something simple to resolve ("oh goodness, I can just run away from this issue and have everything turn out fine instead of facing it"), or something I haven't done before with other characters on OSW. The problem with the 'fun' characters is that they usually come across as shallowly done unless handled very carefully, and that's something I want to avoid. I take it you're leaning to ficlet two?

That's what I said, yep! I think that given how many characters OSW has, it's a little hard not to repeat conflicts, it's mostly differences between characters that make the conflicts unique. Maybe just go with a basic conflict and then let the character shape the rest (and vice versa).

True. I just wasn't sure if you meant profile one or two because Drew's a coach either way. That's his main job while playwriting is on the side--if I choose to keep and use his character, since, because it's already pissing me off so much and coming across as boring and stereotyped to me, I may not. Deciding the 'main' personality has been a massive challenge for this one since I don't, as I said, want to be repetitive with my own character set. At the same time, I don't want to take on a third character I won't be using, either, because then I'd most certainly need to drop at least one of my previous ones. Profile one resembles what we've had foother characters, and two is too much like Serafim.

Fair enough. Might want to step back and take a breather from his profile, at least until you can get a better handle of his personality and what you want out of him?

Possibly. It's also entirely possible I'll come up with another character and forget about this particular profile, since neither personality is working in an interesting fashion.
