"Do it again," Arthur mutters breathlessly.
On his hands and knees before him, Merlin peers over his bare shoulder to look disapprovingly at him. His eyes still have a fading touch of gold to them; proof that he is so much more than meets the eye. "You know, it's rather difficult to focus on magic when you have your dick up my arse, Arthur," he complains - though it would sound considerably more irritable without the breathless smile.
Arthur tilts his hips, driving further inside, and allows his hand to stroke the skin at the small of Merlin's back. He wants to do this properly, to fuck him until neither of them can speak, but he needs to feel Merlin's magic again. It's a compulsion, an addiction. "Do it again," he insists. Merlin's skin is hot beneath his fingers: he wonders if that is a result of Merlin's sorcery or if it is just one of Merlin's quirks.
"Fuck me," Merlin bargains, "and I'll do it."
It's a tempting offer, and it's one that Arthur is hardly going to refuse. His hand strokes up Merlin's spine until it reaches the centre of his shoulders. He uses the vantage point to push Merlin down from his hand, his face onto the pillow. The new angle lets him slide deeper, and he leans down to whisper in Merlin's ear, "Turn either one of us into a toad again and I will be very cross."
His warning has next to no effect, other than making Merlin laugh, but as he rocks inside Merlin the laughter turns to moaning - and then turns to muttering incantations under his breath. Merlin's skin warms as magic flows. A cold wind whips through the wind; lightning strikes; the bed floats.
And Arthur moves inside him, pressing himself deep, content - and, one might say (if one were Merlin and one had a death wish) smug - in the knowledge that he has the most powerful being in all of Camelot here with him: safe, happy, and both of them annoyingly in love.
