Title: Bedtime Story
Fandom: Supernatural (Dean, John)
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
A/N: Written with varietypack100's "Thunder" prompt.

Dean stared at the dusky ceiling. The storm raged, angry and wild. Thunder growled like a crackling flame. Nights like this, his dad used to sit up with him. Sometimes he'd read stories and sometimes Mom would join them. When he'd stopped being scared of storms at all he hadn't told them.

Tonight there was no one to tell stories. Sam was asleep one bed over; his breathing was deafening even above the rain. Once upon a time…Dean thought, staring into the dark. He could never remember what came next - and now there was no one left to remind him.

Title: Too Far Ahead
Fandom: Angel the Series (Angel, Doyle)
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
A/N: Written with the "Why?" prompt.

The half-demon in his kitchen clattered loudly. Angel didn't know what he was doing: at this point, he wouldn't ask. Doyle was looking for something, that was clear, and Angel knew he'd be met with a guilty-faced denial if he confronted him.

Doyle had his secrets - and Angel had them too - but one day… One day they were going to talk about it. About why Doyle was here and why he was the way he was and why Doyle had had these visions thrust upon him.

One of these days, Angel promised, sinking back into the shadows, but not today.

Title: That Ship of Mine
Fandom: Firefly (Mal, Serenity)
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
A/N: Written with the "Thanksgiving" prompt.

Nobody remembered what it was for. The centuries had faded everything - the date, the traditions. Not that it mattered. The name had stuck and that made all the difference. Once a year, just 'cause Kaylee asked them to, the whole crew gathered themselves and said thank you.

Thanks for just 'bout everyone and the day wasn't considered complete unless every one of 'em was blushing. Not exactly Mal's favourite day of the year, but it kept the smiles on those faces. He patted a hand against the wall and had a thank you of his own: thanks for still flying.

Title: Not One For Tradition
Fandom: X-men (John/Bobby)
Word Count: 150
Rating: G
A/N: Written with the "New Year" prompt.

"You shouldn't be here," Bobby said, with a skittish glance over his shoulder. The others were inside, windows glowing brightly.

John grinned and he heard the flick of a lighter, a small flame against the darkness "Why?" John asked. "You gonna rat me out?" The smirk on his face told Bobby that John knew there was no way Bobby would do that - even if he really should have.

"Someone'll find you," Bobby pointed out. "Someone that isn't me."

One of the teachers; one of the X-men. Did it matter who?

"Relax, Ice-man," John said. "Just here to wish you a happy New Year."

He was two hours too early and he gave an uneasy shrug instead of anything more lasting, but John never had been one for tradition. Bobby found himself with a small smile as he shrugged in return - he'd long ago learnt to take what he could get.

Title: Head Full of Thoughts
Fandom: Being Human (George/Mitchell)
Word Count: 189
Rating: PG
A/N: Written with the "He" prompt.

It was weird to think that the being in the bar with you was an honest-to-god vampire. A living, breathing - or, well, unliving, not-breathing - vampire. It was like something out of a bloody fantasy novel, isn't it? One of those Anne Rice things.

Looking at Mitchell watching you over his drink you get the distinct impression that he'd probably do something reasonably violent if you tried raising any comparisons with Lestat. Not that you've read any of that kind of thing, right? Just watched the movie. Once. Because Julia made you, not because you wanted to.

Anyway.

"George," Mitchell purred - because that was how he talked, right, he never just talked it was always something more than that, his voice wrapping around you and making your brain spin - as he leaned in, his breath warm on your cheek and by your ear. "You are thinking far, far too much."

And that was an easily solvable problem and all, as Mitchell easily proved: once you had got a vampire's hand on your arse and tongue in your mouth it was a little bit difficult to think about anything else.
