Various Movie Drabbles

Four drabbles and one drabble-and-a-half on the last five films I saw. Using varietypack100's prompts.

Title: Wash Away
Fandom: Iron Man
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
A/N: For the 'too much' prompt.

There are days when Pepper doesn't make it home until the sun is beginning to rise, distant twinkles on the horizon bringing forth another day. On those days she kicks the heels from her feet and leaves them scattered on the floor, she sheds her clothes and slips into a hot, bubble-filled bath, wishing the world away.

With the world goes the stress, the guilt and the overwhelming loneliness that comes with being Tony Stark's lifeline. She closes her eyes and dips under the water, holding her breath and hearing only her own beating heart for a few precious minutes.

Title: The Universe Isn't Laughing
Fandom: 27 Dresses
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
A/N: For the 'shapes' prompt.

She should be a joke, Kevin thinks as he lounges on her couch, taking the occasional snap-shot when she appears in those disturbingly shaped dresses. Bright colours, frills, bizarre themes… What kind of woman submits herself to these atrocities?

He grins at the next one when she strides in wearing a suit: this story is a joke and she should be the punch line. She's the tragedy that funds his job and he wants to hate her - he wants to pity her.

Yet watching her spinning for him, hearing her laughter, hate really is the furthest thing from his mind.

Title: Losses
Fandom: Enchanted
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
A/N: For the 'moon' prompt.

The dark night sky is the same wherever you are - but back in Andalasia the stars twinkled like bright friends. The moon smiled, lighting the paths of her forest when the sun had to rest.

Not in this place.

Not in New York.

Giselle watches the moon here - a moon that is nothing more than rock - and feels a pang for home. She's happy, so delightfully happy, but it's so different. She wonders what Edward would think of the stagnant moon. Hearing the soft sound of Robert telling his daughter a story, Giselle closes the curtains: now she'll never know.

Title: Sleep On
Fandom: Stardust
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
A/N: For the 'heart' prompt.

Even in her sleep she glows, Tristan realises. A sheen covers her skin, making her beauty even more blinding. It's difficult to look at her without his breath stuttering, his heart skipping. The thought that she loves him in return… It seems impossible.

His hand threads through her hair and he presses his lips to her shoulder. Her breathing remains steady and even. He should try to sleep - there is so much to do tomorrow - yet he can't close his eyes. He can't stop watching her: he can't stop marvelling at his blind luck in having won this star's heart.

Title: Adrenaline Buzz
Fandom: Jumper
Word Count: 150
Rating: G
A/N: For the 'circle' prompt.

"What goes around comes 'round, Roland," the thin voice wavered from the darkness. The bastard knew his name, Roland noted. Griffin was smart, was cunning - was desperate, was bad. Just like all of them. "You've been huntin' us all these years." There was a prickle and a rush of sound, then the voice came from somewhere else. "Now we're huntin' you."

"'We'?" Roland asked. His hand tightened on the tether-gun as he turned slowly, searching the shadows. If this Jumper got away from him now… "It's just you, Griffin. What's the point in fighting?"

The thin voice turned into a hiccupping chuckle. "D'you really expect me to come quietly?"

Roland's face curled into a smile - like it or not, admit it or not, this was the part he lived for - and he conceded. "No," he murmured. "I guess not." With that smile on his face, it was time to fight.
