cassidy_day. Also, unbeted and probably horrible, but I wanted to write something for this community.
You used to be the kid who hid behind the sidelines.
You think maybe that little lost boy died sooner than you did. Because later, all you could really think about was raising hell and being remembered for it.
It worked though, even if no one's talking.
Veronica still carries her hate for you around. Sometimes it gets so hard to carry and you laugh from below. Or weep. You're not really sure anymore.
Logan tries not to talk about it. But really, everytime he's in the same room with your brother, he's breaking a little more inside.
You're not sure if it's wrong that it gives you satisfaction, but it does anyway.
And Dick, Dick's so fucking hard on himself about the whole situation. You kind of wish that maybe you could go back, just to tell your big bro that it really wasn't his fault. The world fucked you over, not him.
But you think maybe Mac will tell him that, so you don't worry too much.
And Mac, god, when you watch her, well, if you could feel anything, you're sure it would be guilt. And pain. And maybe some regret. But you're completely numb, so you don't ponder it.
You know you realized too late what you had become and maybe, just maybe that you could have stopped yourself. But you're sick of the what-if's and maybes.
So you let it go.
Instead you watch from below. Everyone looks different from where you're standing.
