My mom and I both have fibro. She is WAY worse off than me, because she had it in the 90's and they didn't know much about it, and said it was all in her head. She just laid around to escape the pain. Now they know laying around is probably the worst thing you can do for fibro.
I handle it pretty well, I don't take drugs, I eat gluten free and vegan, I do exercise and yoga and physical therapy. She can't do these things at this point. She's in a constant really bad flare. She's depressed, she doesn't leave the house, she just lays and suffers.
I was thinking of taking some time off work, about 3 months, to go down home and help her. If you had someone to help you what would you want/need? I was thinking maybe she could try tai chi, there's no way she could do yoga, but tai chi is gentle. A friend who had liver transplant does it to help regain strength because of her muscle atrophy from all the time she was sick. I'd like to make some type of wellness plan to take and go to her next doc appt and ask his advice and see if it looks good. I don't want to just go and do her laundry, I want to help her get on her feet again (literally and figuratively.)
