responses to comments on Neurontin Post
Hello everyone, I'd like to make a quick update as a response to the post I made earlier about panic and anxiety on Neurontin (Gabapentin is the generic name).

I'll of course call my prescribing doctor on Monday for more information. I was posting to the community to see if anyone has had this specific side-effect whilst taking Neurontin. I titrated up to the dose of 1800mg per day from 300mg starting the first week of April. I was prescribed the medication with the instruction to increase my dosage slowly to 1800mg per day if it was tolerated, and if not, to work back down to a more tolerated dosage.
I will be cutting back (slowly) the dosage to something lower, certainly. I just wanted to verify that the anxiety I was having (as I have anxiety problems without the Neurontin) could be caused by the medicaton in the first place. I am experiencing many benefits from the medication so I didn't want to jump to the conclusion if it weren't possible the Neurontin were causing this issue. Remember, I'm a little on edge and panickky at the moment, so I think I freaked a bit. :)
