I'm currently either getting a bad cold or a nasty flare. I haven't had a bad flare in months, i've been sore and such, but not flare-sore

I am taking Neurotin (gabapentine) 900mg at bedtime and I find it is helping with my pain in general. It makes me clumsy (sort of like drunk but my mind is clear just I can't walk straight all the time)so that's why I take it at night with my muscle relaxer (Skelaxin). I don't feel like I'm having any serious side effects.
I find it makes me very thirsty and at times I feel like I have things crawling on my legs but that is infrequent. I have a friend who is taking 2000mg Neurotin for seizure disorder and she said to make sure you drink plenty of fluids. She has alot of side effects but it's better than having seizures that make her forget her memories for months at a time.
I took amatryptiline for pain that is a depression med and it fucked me up big time. I skipped two doses as advised by my pharmacists (I was on a super low dose) and I had paranoid anxiety, felt like things were crawling on my skin and was in a complete panic that there was someone in my house to get me to the point I couldn't take a shower without looking out the curtain every couple minutes. I was so freaked out I was ready to call my mom to come stay with me to keep me from hurting myself because I was afraid I wouldn't realize I was being 'not sane' at the time. It went away when I took my pill an slept (er well the worst of it but I still was very anxious for days). However, I didn't have any sexual side effects but needless to say I got off of it because it was also making me feel obsessive about things.
Good luck I'm sorry to hear of all your troubles with work etc :(
I'm glad you haven't had any side effects :) My doctor said I must be really sensitive to that whole class of drug that amitriptiline is part of and to not take anything in it's drug family again. (I am also allergic to a lot of drugs so I'm not surprised >_> that I'm sensitive to some too!)
Gabapentine -- the side effects my friend has who takes the 2000mg for her seizures is that her fingers and toes are numb and she has a lot of balance problems and is thirsty/dehydrated feeling all the time.
so just be on the look out and try to drink lots of liquids while taking it :)
