Hello everyone! I have been suffering with fatigue, depression and mild pain since I was a teen (I am now 21), but around a year ago it all got worse. I went through 4 different therapists and countless depression/anxiety meds coz they were convinced it was all in my head. Finally I gave up on them and scheduled an appointment with a family practice doctor. The pain was getting so bad that I had to quit my job at JoAnn Fabrics. They tested me for many things and referred me to a neurologist. She diagnosed it as fibro and put me on Lyrica. So here I am. I have only been on the Lyrica for about a week now, and I can notice that it is helping some, but the fatigue and dizzyness is getting to me. I figure it will get better the longer I am on it.
I have done a lot of research while waiting for test results after the neurologist told me it was probably fibro, and have heard that water aerobics is a good way to help ease the pain. Does anyone here do this? What other things do you all do to help the pain?
Does anyone have any experiences about Lyrica they'd like to share? How do the side effects effect you? Did they go away after you had been on it a while? Has the weight gain been an issue? I gained a lot of weight from one of the previous meds I was on and haven't been able to work it off because of the pain.
Sorry if I post a lot of questions in the future, this is all a little new an intimidating to me.
EDIT: Does anyone else have memory loss? I have a terrible memory as of late and wonder if it is related.
