Rash? What is it!?

For about sixteen months now, I've had this *thing* on the inside of my right ring finger. It comes and goes, but when it "goes," my skin still looks odd, like a healing burn. Anyway, I mentioned it to the rheumy and to my PCP, and the rheumy has mentioned getting a biopsy done on it. Today, it came back in full force, and the edge of it looks especially scaly today.

I've finally decided to take a picture of it and post it here, to see if any of you lovely people have experienced anything like it.
