Always Love

(Typed Friday night)

Hello chilluns.

So, some pretty big news tonight.

Let's start with a few nights ago.

On Thursday, I made my way over to the Velvet Lounge for Le Loup's first ever show-- May's in it, and she's one hell of a sex symbol-- and Jukebox the Ghost's one-hell-of-an-amazing-show. Pretty fan-fuckin-tastic, if I do say so myself (and I do). About halfway through the show, I get a text from Erin, who's upstairs watching the second, less interesting band. "Yo. Travis Morrison is up here."

Travis Morrison is the lead singer of the Dismemberment Plan. You might recall my blog o' "HOLYSHITEIHAVEDPLANREUNIONTICKETS" ness.

So I flip the fuck out, get up the nerve to talk to him. Say something like, "Saw your last show. Looking forward to the reunion. It'll be a bookend for my collegiate career." He laughed. His girlfriend grimaced.

Towards the end of the show, I got a tap on the shoulder from a young man who turned out to be a kid I knew in sixth grade. I wouldn't go out with him, or danced too far away from him or something, and he spent the next three years prank phone calling me with some rather obscene words. He seems rather nice now.

I'm now in Cleveland, where I just saw Rick Cleveland perform his one man show. It was fucking hilarious. Apparently, while writing for the West Wing, he met/got to know Bill Clinton. The whole mostly fictional story was ridiculous. My Mom's old friend brought a friend who then cornered Rick (with whom I'm supposed to be making a bond, as he is very, very well connected in LA). I'm meeting him again tomorrow-- he seems soft spoken, but witty-- I like that.

Also, Harvey Pekar's wife put on the show, so I met her. I think I'm meeting him tomorrow. (See: American Splendor. Ahh!)

Oh, and I officially got the job as the PA for "No Gods, No Monsters". Talked with the director and everything. Staying in Dayton either through June or July (thankfully- I miss home and all of you Daytonians). Gonna be living in Motels, working for Al Pacino. I am okay with this. Nay- thrilled with it.

Erm... that's about it. Should probably sleep soon.. might watch some tv first. Maybe.

K.
