Imagination: 'My Mother's Garden'

My mother was well known for her fabulous flower garden; she was once featured on a local gardening show in Portland. In my imagination, the two plies of this yarn, one the pastel colors of spring flowers (daffodils, narcissus, crocus, hyacinth, tulips) and the other full of brighter summer flower colors (dahlias, sunflowers, peonies, butterfly bush) are the two seasons of her garden. She would have been just getting ready to put bulbs back in the ground and doing seedling starts indoors at this time of year. She would have loved this yarn.

170 yds., 7.6 oz., 8 WPI
2 wool/mohair singles, one in spring flower colors, one in summer flower colors. (While beautiful, this yarn is not next-to-the-skin soft). Alt view: http://flickr.com/photos/velmasworld/431556245/. Unplied and on bobbin: http://flickr.com/photos/velmasworld/429943999/
