They're Tapped!

...and the flow should start tomorrow morning too... nothing like collecting gallons of sap and boiling it down into glorious sweet syrup! Mine is a huge Silver Maple - we like the syrup even better than Sugar Maples. It's a long, tedious process - rather like this wound up being, but worth every moment...




A two-ply Manx Loughton I'd spun up in the past (in my icon actually) further plied with lace-weight pale honey silk and "forest fur" (mostly opossum).

My little light Lady Barbara spindle and my MASSIVLY HEAVY old whatever spindle. This monster is what I actually learned to spin on when I was a little girl! (Thank you huaman for pointers on bottom draft spindles - made this vastly easier to handle and may now get a bit more use!)
