English Language Test results
I am A Very Good User of the English Language, got a total score of 8 (the highest is 9). I am pretty happy about it, but think I could do 8,5.
Listening is 9 out of 9, so I am an Expert User on that
Reading is 7,5 (crazy True, Falso, Not Given questions...)
Writing is 8 (lots of emails)
Speaking is 7, what a nice surprise, I am not very pleased with this score, but I think I know what my mistakes were: I tried to be concise and to the point, and answered the question in 2-3 sentences. In this test though, I had to talk for some time before the examiner stopped me. I realized it only afterwards. And I have obviously made some grammar mistakes.
Anyway, the total score is ok, as Cardiff asks for 6.5, Bath asks for 7 minimum, so I'm ok here.
The final decision about the scolarship will be announced in April, and I am getting pretty nervous about it. I try to be calm and know what I'll be doing if I don't get it. Still, it involved so much hard work, would be a real pity if I don't get it this year.
Hard to say what their decision will be based on. I kind of know my advantages and disatvantages for suitability for getting this money, but the competition is very intence... We'll wait and see...
The Forsyte Saga
Watched a bit of a Tv film based on this novel. Seems that they don't bother reading the book attentively. Iren's main trait which makes her beauty outstanding is her fair hair and dark eyes. Here, we get a dark-haired and dark-eyed woman. The same with June - her character is revealed by the author through her hair - flaming red, here we get a dark-haired woman again.
My sister said that they just coudn't find good actresses with needed hair colour.
No plans for weekend so far, University tomorrow and we'll see then.
