Do You Hate Her Yet?

With Umbridge starting her first full week at Fandom, I wanted to get an additional post up with more specific details about punishments, the revolution. and Umbridge in general.

How Will I Be Punished?

Umbridge isn't going to be hesitant to punish anyone she sees as a rulebreaker. Punishments are going to range from a simple magical spell (like the ones seen in last night's Zuko/Mel post) to detentions to even the dreaded quills. DUN DUN DUN. The quills, however, are not going to be commonplace, they will not be used regularly and they will ONLY be used if Umbridge feels a personal threat or really wants to teach someone a lesson. She has her likes, her dislikes and she's going to choose students and teachers (maybe!) for quills punishment as seen fit. This doesn't mean that everyone tries to blow up her office so she'll quill you. Please don't aim for quills punishment. They will come but they're not going to be widely used as that dilutes the power of that particular punishment. Mmm, alliteration.

Detentions with Umbridge will still be cracky but they're also not going to be typical run of the mill detentions. She's not a nice person so she has no trouble sending Muggle children into dangerous situations. I'd also thought about, just for the purpose of crackiness, giving a special teacher detention. I have absolutely no doubt that the teachers won't abide by the detention but holding a detention especially for teachers and staff makes me laugh and would make Umbridge feel powerful.

Umbridge Herself

People are more than welcome to try and intimidate and/or scare her. But, just be warned, she is not going to be be either easily at all. While at Hogwarts, she dealt with Harry Potter and all his friends, Minerva McGonagall, and Albus Dumbledore. She knows how to deal with people, she knows how to scare people and any attempts to scare or intimidate her will most likely fail. This isn't me trying to be more powerful or better than anyone, this is just a canonical fact.

The Revolution: How's that Going to Work?

I hesitate to put a lot of specifics on the revolution simply for the fact that I don't want to ruin surprises or restrict anything in anyway. But, to give some basic guidelines, the revolution can work very similar to the way Dumbledore's Army worked in the movie. I've even heard the word Zoe's Army tossed around. Once things get rolling, once more people know that Umbridge is Bad News, start organizing clandestine meetings for anyone who wants to come. Obviously, don't do this in plain view of Umbridge or she'll break it up. The school doesn't have a Room of Requirement but it has many other places that could be used.

Formulate plans of attack against Umbridge. Whether that be by vandalizing her office, stealing her kitten plates, spiking her tea etc etc, start coming up with ideas that you think would undermine her authority and push her to the point of wanting to leave. Of course, please notify me OOCly if you ARE wanting to do something to her so I have some prior knowledge.

If you'd like to have a big, giant teachers, students, staff, townies kind of meeting, organize something in town so everyone can attend. If you'd like to break it up, organize two separate meetings. Post posters advertising a club that's just a front for a clandestine meeting to overthrow your awesome headmaster.

Anything and everything in this area is free game. I'm going to say yes to almost anything people want to do to Umbridge short of physical violence that actually could injure her. So, go wild.

Why Can't We Just Tell Zoe?

Because I said so. No, kidding. The simple answer here is that she's just had a child. She doesn't need to be stressed out with an evil headmaster and her office being pink just yet. If you absolutely must tell an adult, tell someone who is not Zoe. Zoe will be involved in this plot but she gets sometime with the Wee Winchester first and foremost.

Umbridge would just Confound Zoe but, well, deathwish.

I'll Tell My Powerful [insert name of powerful family member here]!

No, you won't. Umbridge is also going to control communication going out from the island. Of course, this doesn't mean all communication will be stopped. She will just be restricting anything having to do wit her. Please don't think I'm stopping you from chatting to off island friends. I'm not. This is only going to be regarding emails/phone calls/letters relating to her actions. Anything else is fine.

So, questions? Comments? Hate me yet?

mean ol' umbridge
