Vampires can watch the hippie love in growing number of Happymeals on legs outside.

So, the mortals thought they were going to get inside, did they? It would almost be cute, if Zoe wasn't hungry and rather crazy.

"It looks like dinner's come to us tonight," she said, after she'd gathered everyone up. She noticed that their numbers had shrunk yet again, but nothing in her expression gave any sign that this concerned her. "We've lost a great deal of our kin in the last few days, and the people outside are the ones who have taken them from us. Clearly, they need to be reminded who is in charge here. Kill them all, every last one of them. Make them pay and tonight, they will learn never to try this again."

Gavin thought Zoe was A LOT crazy but he wasn't going to just let himself get dusted by a bunch of puny mortals. Her words were confident though and they were enough to get Gavin riled up to fight.

Between the food outside being more determined than usual to kill her and the wrath of Zoe should she run and hide from the fight...Meg would take the determined food. Much better chance she'd survive that way.

So Meg was somewhat ready to fight, standing to the side and telling herself she was too cute to actually die.

The time was coming. William could sense it, and every nerve tingled with anticipation. A final battle was wonderful. It meant that either the mortals would be dead and maybe Zoe would see fit to let him go, or most of these Vampires around him would die, leaving him free to find the equipment that would release him.

Plus, battle. Always good. He'd be using both his sword and gun this time.

It would be hard for anyone to learn a lesson if they were dead.

"Maybe." he nodded.

"Come on, 'kill them all'? Then what the hell would we feed on? Animals can only work for so long."

"I personally intend to kill the dangerous ones. But I'm sure there's some non-combatants we can capture."

"I agree," she said, shifting closer to stretch up and press a quick kiss to his lips.

"I'll see you after all this is over."

"Our time is coming." he whispered to her.

And it was. Just not in the way he'd meant.

Outwardly, Tim appeared ready for action. He even had his sword back. He hadn't been sure if his Vampire self would be able to summon it.

What no one knew of course was that who he was ready to fight, might not be who they thought.

After bringing the news last night Of Belthazor's death and her vengeance on the one who shot him, Gwynn had gathered up all of the arrows she had been making this week to fill her quiver. She had her sword with her as well.

She would help her people by wounding the humans for them as much as she could. It wasn't possible for them to run away from fangs or stake her friends if they couldn't use an arm or leg.
