Vancouver - Sunday

May 16, 2010 10:05

The high temperature today is expected to be 66F/19C and the low is 50F/10C. Expecting showers all day, so don't forget an umbrella if you go out into the city. You can also stick around the hostel, maybe talk to some of the other travelers.

Francine hadn't felt much like walking around in the rain today; it felt more like a flop back in bed and make phone calls day. After venturing out for dinner, she could once again be found there, laptop open, as she lazily scrolled through a website listing Vancouver shooting locations and what shows and movies had filmed there.

[For the girl or... anybody in the hostel, rly!]

I think the Duck Lady should make an appearance while y'all are in Vancouver!

I do not know of this Duck Lady, but if you tell me about her, I bet we can work something out!

Actually, any Vancouver stuff you want to suggest will be very welcome!

There's a woman who wanders around with a pet duck in a knitted sweater! Not on a leash or anything, it just follows along with her. She also has a baby carriage for when it gets tired. She's been around forever although not with the same duck.

For shopping/food/general awesomeness: Commercial Drive, Granville Island, Gastown, Robson St. Science nerds will not want to miss out on Science World (officially Telus World of Science now but no one ever calls it that). For a bit of nature: Stanley Park which has been many an alien planet forest (and if you're at the park already why not check out the Aquarium?) Grouse Mountain if you feel like hiking (or ziplining!), and Capilano Suspension Bridge. And oooh, the Chinese Garden!

...I could ramble forever, and I didn't even live in Vancouver proper.
