Not able to resist another trip off the mountain that promised to be slower paced but enthralling, Jonas was taking in the covered bridges. Bridges were something he'd never seen in the first place so seeing them covered, wondering if the construction could hold up under intense weather conditions was enough to capture his attention.

He found himself walking inside them, touching areas he could reach and hating that the Community had been so flat and uniform.

An outdoor trip that didn't require at least some real physical element? Chuck was there for this. Managed to tear himself away from the activity barn and it's video games finally.

It was just some wandering around, how tough could it be?

It was honestly time that Jan saw a little more of the world... and that she was going to today. Cable hovered, of course, especially to help whenever she looked like she was about to fall over -- and to begin pointing out a few things in the foilage and about the bridges that might be useful in a survival scenario.

Yes, she was two years old. That didn't mean she was excused from learning vital skills.

Joan decided to drag Raven out to do stuff. And, well, drag herself out. She wasn't into the active, outdoorsy stuff, but she could totally handle a trip to see covered bridges.

She even had her camera.

It had taken only a minimal cajoling to get Raven away from her books. But she had decided she liked fall, so taking in the scenery was no hardship. "Azarath does not change like this," she remarked.

"Really?" Joan asked. "You don't have seasons?"

Raven shook her head. "The weather remains the same throughout the year," she said. "It is magically controlled, for Azarath is not a planet orbiting a sun like this world. I have never seen snow or the leaves changing colors like this."

"Wow."

Joan couldn't imagine living somewhere without seasons. "I'm sure you'll get to see snow in a few months. We'll have to take you shopping for winter clothes."

In colors.

There could be colors, if dark burgundies and purples were what she had in mind.

"How cold will it get here?" Raven said. "I have felt the chill in the air growing each day."

Purples and burgundies were colors, sure. And maybe some red and green for festivity.

"It gets pretty cold," Joan said. "Though, admittedly, not as cold as it gets further north."

Festive colors did not come in goth, please.

"I imagine the novelty will wear off after a few days of snow," Raven said. "But I cannot wait to see it."

But it wouldn't kill anyone to wear festive colors.

"I always get excited about the first snow fall of the year," Joan said. "And then by February I'm totally over it."

"How is Liir?" Raven asked, since she had nothing else to say about the weather. "I have not spoken to him in some time."

"He's... okay," Joan said carefully. "He's been kind of antisocial lately."

Raven nodded. "I have not seen him," she said. "And the last I spoke with him I could not understand what was bothering him so much." Her gifts weren't very helpful when she didn't understand the emotions she was sensing.
