Thelma Bates was a mischievous girl while she was alive. Now that she was dead, and had been for quite awhile, she was downright devious.

And so, there in the common room was a girl in a black dress and red boots, camped out on a sofa.

Very possibly making plans to create a secret peephole into the girls' showers.

There was a short, ugly, green thing blinking at her with the most adorable puppy dog eyes. "Ummmmm... Would you mind if I turned the TV on?"

"Demon!" Stephen yelled out a warning, casting about for a weapon of some sort.

"NO! No, I'm not! I'm a friend!" Lexington announced, backing away slowly. "I'm one of the good guys!"

Stephen's eyes narrowed suspiciously. "Good guys?" he said, not convinced. There were plenty of things in here he could use if he needed to.

Lex tried to keep his pulse calm so his eyes wouldn't glow, and backed a bit further away. "Yeah. I fight evil, and protect New York," he said, in what he hoped was a convincing voice. "Well, when I'm in New York. I guess I protect Fandom, now."

"Why?" Defending it's feeding grounds he supposed.

"Because I'm here?" Lexington answered with a shrug. "Gargoyles protect -- it's what we do."

Gargoyals. Not something Father had ever mentioned. Must be a territorial issue. "What do you eat?"

Lex shrugged again. "...Food? I don't eat PEOPLE, if that's what you're worried about. I swear, I'm not a demon."

He wasn't a natural animal, or a human. Therefore, Demon. However since Connor had not immediately attacked, we'll call that an improvement, and growth.

"Okay." he said. The tone of his voice said quite clearly that he'd let it go for now. But he had his eye on the green demon.

Thelma blinked a few times.

"...what are you?"

"I'm a Gargoyle!" Lex announced. "Don't worry, I'm friendly. My name's Lexington."

"And I'm Thelma," she said. "Not a gargoyle. Ghost, though."

"A real, actual ghost?" Lexington asked, curious. "Are you haunting the school?"

"Sort of," Thelma explained. "I'm actually here to finish my schooling. Sort of a... last hurrah."

"One last task to finish before you can move on," Lex decided. He'd seen a lot of movies and read a lot of books. "Well, if you need help studying or anything, I can help."
