So the military hadn't exactly "solved all their problems." They'd gotten them out of New Orleans, sure, but their evacuation hadn't exactly gone smoothly. Ellis was actually a little foggy on the details because he'd been asleep on the chopper, all he knew was he woke up to Rochelle yelling in his ear and the smell of smoke. They'd landed fine, but something had gone seriously wrong around them, and they'd hauled ass out of there.

That ended in them getting notice that "there were no zombies in Canada!" because it was too cold, or some shit. So, they moved on. What else could they do?

Luckily though, whatever was possessing them to go back North was possessing other people too, and they ran into that one group of survivors they'd met in Georgia, again.

Ellis was kinda hoping they'd be able to get the Jimmy Gibbs Jr, but it ended up being too much of a hassle to go back towards Whispering Oaks. Still, finding those other three was just about as good as getting a car. Three extra guns, with the added bonus of one of 'em being absolutely beautiful.

Not that Ellis had actually managed to tell the girl he thought she was pretty yet, but he was getting to it. All in due time, y'know?

He was actually thinking about that, as he sat on the couch in one of the nicer safe houses they'd been in in a while, cleaning the guns. He was talking to himself under his breath, but everyone else was either trying to sleep or wrapped up in their own business in the other rooms, so he wasn't really paying much mind to the possibility of someone walking in.

"All you gotta do is just walk up to her an' tell her she's pretty, right?"
