Why, oh pencil tip
must thou break?
Why dost thou trip
with thy friend Calculus?!

Does thy sharpness not
appreciate our effort
in sharpening thy tip
ever since we were young and hot?

Looking at thy tip
so weak and porose
I can feel the whip
on my shattered heart.
