Live for 5mp: DRG/BLU 22-26
So I finally started DRG in earnest, and surprisingly I beat the first bump by liking it even more. This happened with PLD so i'm encouraged. :3 BLU just made me hate the job more. Oh well.
Location: West Sarutabaruta [S]
Target: Carrion Crows and whatever else looks pokey.
The big benefit to leveling in the past is the allmighty Sigil. It confers Regen, REFRESH, and meal extension, based on your rank. This let me essentially run twice as long at first, and once I got used to it and got higher levels, run forever. Sigil DOES confer a defense bonus, and it's extremely evident when you lose it mid-fight. The mobs in the past are extremely buffed and quite difficult on average.
The birds have the nice fire crystal drop rate that Kitai needs, and the piercing weakness. I just recently got my first lance and it does a remarkable job at killing anything with flight.
So, the camp itself. It's located extremely close to the Windy zone, and somewhat adjacent to Pixies. You go North-West until you hit crows, and start killing. They don't link or agro, in fact there's no agro at all in this section. If you run out of birds around that bend in the road, follow the road north to a large camp of pixies (there were SEVEN within viewing distance!) and more crows, although with agro close by. The outpost is right there too, letting you join in if you wish.
Crows start at DC(72xp) to T(140xp). It's difficult and draining to kill the higher level crows but you level quickly here and towards the end it's all EM and lower.
Meat Jerky was used throughout and gear wasn't upgraded at all save for Emp Hairpin at 25 because I forgot about it.
I left camp at 25 to try to find greener pastures, and all I got was a harsh lesson in "learn to appreciate chaining EM and lower".
I'm now addicted to refresh.
Next camp(s) are Qufim and Yuth Jungle; Gigases and Mandies respectively. Camps promise to be quite difficult as mandies sleep and gigases have AOE damage moves. At 28 I can realistically move to Rolanberry [S], where there's a magnificent camp of Lycos that "goldfish-link", don't sleep and have a pixie regularly patrol the area. At 31 I start Duoing with Kitai as NIN/DNC all the way to 37.
60 and that freakin Armet can't come fast enough, I swear. I do have to take a break soonish as IX (racing bird) is nearing the point that I have to pay much more attention to him so I can turn him into a money printer.
