Lots of interesting vibes including a hint of Sherlock - references to "my methodology" and weird deductions from things like the colour of a horseman's cloak, and a slight opium habit; weird science and mystical stuff that made me wonder if The Doctor was going to pop up somewhere, or

I'm just watching the fourth episode and loving it - many thanks again for suggesting it! Definitely planning to keep watching.

Some lovely stuff in there, especially the DaVinci / Riario interaction:

"I'd rather have my testicles gnawed off by conger eels."

"Well, that can be arranged."

I love the fact that Riario is such a Shoreditch hipster completely out of his time and place - the hat, the little shades. And he and Leo have this weird vibe.
