Nook Simple Touch

May 01, 2013 18:09

The Nook Simple Touch is currently on offer in the UK at £29. I'm not quite sure if I can download files on my PC and transfer them to the Nook (or to a micro SD), or have to use the Barnes and Noble interface. Anyone know?

Later: Apparently it's no problem - off to order one!

Just use the appropriate cable and there's no problem with transferring files to the Nook. I've moved over quite a few files from AO3 with no problem.

You can move files with no trouble. I have a lot of Baen books and stuff from Project Gutenberg on mine. You may need to use Adobe Digital Editions for stuff with DRM.

Excellent - off to order one. Files I want don't have DRM, e.g. fanfic, so shouldn't be a problem.

Nooks play nicely with Calibre for book management.

Just what I need - I can start by downloading my current library to it, without having to mess around converting every file to Sony's format.
