A lot more than a few days went by in the NCIS verse between "Legend" and McGee almost getting killed by the assassin he met in the coffee shop. Among other things, they had the whole Ziva spends six months as a prisoner in Somalia plot.

McGee's lack of interest might make more sense if he's in LA for some reason other than the "Legend" story, set after "Endgame."

I assume you mean a few days *before* not after. Otherwise why would McGee be wary during the meeting.

Revised it a little to fix the big chronological error, think it improves this aspect of the story too.

The dog, the roller-skating yep - should all help with the camouflage - but she's maybe not quite there yet with being totally Linda!

You're not wrong - she's trying to behave like a typical girl, but typical girls aren't invulnerable and faster than a speeding bullet, and react to things differently.
