This is the second time that I try to dedicate a birthday entry for this fabulous woman here at LiveJournal. Time really flies. Never would I imagine I would like her more than just a few months, and yet I do.

Unlike all those masculine and strong roles that she always portrayed on TV, Amami-san is indeed quite a different person in real life.

~*~*~*~

In a recent interview (that took place just 2 weeks ago), Amami-san actually revealed a different side of her in front of the tv.

She talked about her personal life quite a bit in this interview.

When the host mentioned that he knew her father passed away not long before she filmed Around 40, Amami-san just couldn't help but turned teary eyes:

The host then went on saying that he actually talked to her elder brother earlier and was told that before her father died, one of his biggest worries was Amami-san herself because she hasn't got married yet.

The moment Amami-san heard this, she started crying in front of the cameras and mentioned that there was a certain scene in Around 40 that reminds her very much of her dearest father:

                               " 結婚しとけばよがった..."

It was the scene when her father [in the drama] was thought to be dying and then Ogata-sensei [her role] regretted not getting married sooner so as not to become her father's burden even before he died.

Amami-san said that the whole crew had to stop filming at that time because she just couldn't help but cried uncontrollably inside the studio.

Despite being 42 and single (which is indeed not too common in Japan), however, Amami-san is actually well loved by family and friends [and fans of course].

The host of the show then told Amami-san that he also talked to her childhood friends, as well as her friends in the Japanese showbiz  (including the guys in 石原 family) and all, I mean all of them said the exact same thing in front of the camera, and that is:

                                      " 天海祐希をよろしく"

And Amami-san was already moved beyond words by then:

But it was when the host told her that he was invited to her house by her elder brother just the day before filming and thus got to pay a visit to her mother that actually shocked Amami-san!! When asked who Amami-san resembles, Amami-san's mother told the host that:

"She takes after her [deceased] father a great deal!!"

Amami-san couldn't help it anymore but burst into tears, and at the same time kept thanking the host for his kindess:

I don't think  笑屋亭鶴瓶 (the host) would go all the way to interview her silbings, her childhood girlfriends, her friends as well as her mother if Amami-san isn't the kind of person that worths his effort.

This episode of A-Studio with Amami-san in it actually got the highest rating in the show's history.

Oh and just in case some people don't already know, apart from acting, she could sing really well too. Have a look at this and you'll know:
