‘FlashForward’ Creator Goyer: ‘It’s Not ‘Lost”

Sep 24, 2009 17:36

Last week, I was invited to visit the set of "FlashForward." We were treated to some clips from upcoming episodes and a preview of a three and a half minute trailer airing after tonight's pilot.

While there, executive producers David S. Goyer and Marc Guggenheim talked about the comparisons to "Lost," the series' development at another network and whether the actors should be fearing for their jobs:

During the visit, Goyer addressed the comparisons to Lost, saying that while FlashForward does have the same “really big, cinematic” feel as Lost and “a lot of characters,” “it’s not ‘Lost.’”

“I think as soon as people see the episodes, the comparisons will stop, although I love ‘Lost,’” Goyer said. “’FlashForward’ is not a science fiction show.”

Guggenheim pointed out that while “it is a very ambitious story with a lot of layers and a lot of plot twists,” it is not “an impenetrable byzantine puzzle box.” The producers promised that the series would pass the six month flash forward date by the end of the first season.

You can read the full recap at my TV blog. Part 2 with the actors' comments will be posted tomorrow.
