See Marvin? He is not impressed by your attempts to cash in on DNA

This may be old news (seeing as it was announced back in 2008), but...Okay, uh...apparently, Eoin Colfer is being commissioned to write the 6th book of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy trilogy (to be titled "And Another Thing").

Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot. xOne Billion (and 42).

I don't mind Colfer's writing--I liked the first book of the Artemis Fowl series well enough, though I haven't read any of the rest--but this is Douglas Adams' work, his magnum opus if you will. Maybe I'm being too much of a pessimist, but I don't like this idea. True, the trilogy finished, as Adams put it, "rather bleak," but that doesn't mean someone has to OMG-FINISH-THE-UNHAPPY-ENDING-OMG!!1!!!11! for Adams. Fanfiction is wonderful, but making it into canon is walking a mighty fine line.

*sigh* At least this was a request from Adams' widow and not just the higher-ups clamoring for a continuation. If this had been a last request from Adams himself, I would definitely be more open to someone picking up where he left off. Maybe I'll be proven wrong and it'll be amazing enough that everybody can enjoy it. *waits warily for more news on this*

And...now time for a hilarious video with Christopher Judge (Teal'c from Stargate SG-1), courtesy of long hours of homework avoidance Internet surfing (there isn't anything really to do with SG1 except that the actors are the ones on the panel).

A few in the "related videos" box are worth the watch, too. *had been trying not to shriek with laughter since it was 1:30AM when she watched them and the walls are thin*

I've been watching Babylon 5 on Hulu, and reveling in the slightly-hokey-effects/acting-but-awesome-plot of it all. I have no idea what I'll do when I hit the end of season 2, if Hulu doesn't put up seasons 3-5, but I'll work it out. I do still have quite a ways to go until I hit that snag, anyway.

And Leverage last night!! ASLDKFHAKSDHFASKGDHSAKFHASLKDFH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't...I can't put it into words how awesome the finale was! Except, maybe I can:

Hardison [triumphant]: Eliot, what does that say?
Eliot: It says ‘dead’.
Hardison: D-E-D, dead, baby.
Eliot & Nathan: D-E-A-D.
Hardison: I-I know how to... I was throwing a little style into it, just a little bit, a little style--I know how to spell ‘dead’, damn it! I can steal a bank, I can spell ‘dead’!

Haa, Hardison, don't worry, I (and I'm sure a whole bunch of other Internet-savvy people) were right there with you! I was even saying "D-E-D, dead," with Hardison, and giggling as I did it, and then Eliot and Nathan were correcting him without realizing it was intentional, and I flailed. Literally. Arms and legs everywhere because I was so excited. And we're promised the new season this June, and even better THEY DIDN'T SHOW PROMOS FOR IT!! I know, a little strange, but I like the suspense.

And, on a less happy note, EUReKA! What are you doing??? Supposedly the next half of Season 3 isn't going to come out until July--look at the news for February 20, 2009. Baaaahh! Why so long! I know, I know, pre- and post-production, longer/better shooting days for the actors, etc. etc. But still. They might as well just make it into season 4. Waiting almost a year to show the rest of the season isn't exactly a "mid-season break," IMHO.

Side note: The Dark Knight on an IMAX screen is awesome fantastic incredible indescribable. ^_____^
