The streams of golden light played across the green field, and the stone ruins that were off in the distance. His jaw tightened, the time had arrived. The moment he had planned for, had secluded himself for, and sacrificed so many creatures to the progression of his knowledge.

No, it wasn't all, and Cloud would have taken a moment to respond to Sephiroth, but he was too busy trying to defend himself. Strike while the man's still down, right? Or, at least, comparitively speaking. Cloud landed, behind Sephiroth, turning quickly on his heel. He was damned glad that he had a Regen spell cast upon him.
Geostigma took a lot out of you. Wiping the sweat off of his brow, Cloud rushed at Sephiroth again.

His hand lifted and a slowga was cast at Sephiroth. If he could slow the other down, Tidus would feel better. He didn't know how long Cloud could keep up this speed and he frankly didn't want him to.
He knew how bad the Geostigma was and he wasn't willing to risk him even in the pursuit of something like this. He was doing his best to remain out of this, knowing that this wasn't really his fight but it was hard.
A protect went up over him and he flexed his hands around the hilt of his sword once more.

Calling out Tidus' name, Cloud hoped that a response would help him get his bearings back.

His teeth gritted together as Sephiroth's sword came closer towards him. He tightened his hold and pushed back but the side of Sephiroth's sword cut his cheek and a sharp stinging pain took up residence in that side of Tidus' face.
He ignored it and simply pushed back against Sephiroth and used that opening to spring away from the other. As he did, his sword cut out in a wide circle towards Sephiroth.

Holy shit, it got Tidus, too.
For a moment, Cloud had forgotten about the pursuit of Sephiroth. He was also on the wrong side of the room to do anything about the retreating summon. To do anything, really.
But, rationale, and the general laws of physics wasn't enough to keep Cloud stranded for long. He made a quick leap to another fragment of the floor, catching onto it with his good hand, and pulling himself upward. After he stood, careful not to slip on the rubble, Cloud began climbing over the broken wall, eyes scanning for anything that he could find.
