They took my story down!

I'm pretty ticked off here.  First, they ignore you whenever you contact them.  But then they can suddenly allegedly review and decide to delete your story?  And over what?  The fact that they felt it should have been rated higher?  Their ratings guidelines are extremely vague.  I gave it the rating I thought was appropriate.  It takes FIVE SECONDS ( Read more... )

Heard of the site, but what can you tell me? Do you get email notifications of reviews? How does document uploading work? Does it mess with the story like ff's does? And is everything categorized? I could recall having trouble with that on the site some time ago, but maybe it's changed.

I guess I could give it a try. Can you send me the invite? If you PM me, I can give you my email.

Mine got deleted too, along with half the Hunger Games community, since I got characters submitted before the story started. I wrote the whole damn thing, and never let anyone else influence any plop point or any character after the story had begun, but apparently it was still interactive. I'm done with the site.

I would also like to recommend AO3, with the disclaimer that I am a volunteer with user support there (and that I don't speak for the organization, but only for myself). Given that, I can at least assure you that if you have any issues with posting, searching, or anything else, that all questions submitted to Support are answered by humans who care.

What are you feeling lost about? One thing that might be useful is the FAQ: http://archiveofourown.org/archive_faqs

You can get to your own page, where you can see your works, bookmarks, etc. by clicking the "my home" button at the top left, and you can browse works in various fandoms by clicking the "fandoms" button and then choosing the appropriate sub-category. Alternately, you can type terms into the "search" box, including fandoms, character names, author names, and "tags," which are the various things authors can label their works with.

If you have questions, please feel free to email me (ladyoscar@trekfiveo.com) or contact Support through the support form: http://archiveofourown.org/support

Cool to have you on board!

First off, most of my stories AREN'T slash. Second, that the story was slash has NOTHING to do with any of this. Your attitude is really rude, and perhaps you are missing the point of this community.

Had three of my stories deleted today for having naughty words in the summaries. Can't complain but a bit of notice would have been nice. Does seem as though there's some kind of purge going on all of a sudden.
