Nothing earth shattering, unfortunately. Mainly, I have found that these things help:
1. Keep writing, don't worry if it comes out completely crappy. Something will happen, anyway.
2. Write blanks if I need to. I mean, like, if I really have no idea what the characters should do or say, just to get through a situation and to another one I feel better/more excited about, I'm just actually writing blanks that give a structure to the scene and sort of placehold where I would want dialogue without having to come up with content. Like "________?" "No. ___________" "Ohhhhh...."
3. If I can't think of anything to write about the characters, I draw something related to the story. I like drawing floor plans or plans for neighborhoods, so thats usually what I do. So like, I'll draw out the whole room where the scene is taking place, decide how big the closet is, where the bathroom door goes. Then usually I can come up with something to write that takes place there, and when I start writing, knowing where everything is makes it easier to come up with actions that make sense in the space.
