Author's Note: *looks around the community* This all seems very familiar... I could have sworn I started forgetting to post up my stories on a place veeery similar to this... >.< Recently started playing FFX-2 again and it's kind of pulled me away from the computer. Ah well! More Rikku/Paine, Lulu/Ginnem ideas will spawn soon ...>D mwhaha.
Happy Halloween everyone!

I hate waiting.
Time slithers past like a snail; my foot has often come crashing down upon it in the madness of my impatience. Presents never lay unwrapped for long.
Yet that slimy creature evades me when it concerns her; only she can get rid of time's pest.
She's late.
I've read the same page in my book again and again but my mind cannot turn to the next one; my anticipation of her sudden arrival stops me from moving onto something new.
My foot taps the leg of the chair as I stare up at the clock.
Then there is laboured breathing hitting the back of my neck and the warmth of a hand on my shoulder.
"S-Sorry...
She came.

I can hear cries of pain, of death, and all I can do is stand and keep my eyes on the door; expecting the enemy to come bursting through and trample upon the garden's pests.
Nothing so far.
We were divided from one another; the waves of students for and against our causes crashing into us and pulling everything away from me, from you.
I'm alone in here. Waiting for her in our meeting place with patient books.
Be okay, safe, don't die...
I'll wait for you for as long as you need me to...
Just meet me here, okay!?
Come to the garden; before they do.

Please...

The doors crash open and within my mind I can hear the cracking of delicate shells; the squelch of something small.
That breaking noise, my bones and body, is coming from me.
I fall and amongst the fallen pages of books, the library's grass, I see your pained face and your bloodied weapon.
I can't believe I didn't trust you in that moment.
You always come for me in the end.
