To surprise a Turk was to sign a confession to a capital crime. That was why she did it. The risk.
The punch knocked her off her feet and into the brick wall she'd desired.
"The hell?" Elena spat the words out, ridding herself of the taste of confusion. "Tifa?"
She was back on her feet too soon and lunged herself at the uniformed woman, fingers closing around her pale throat. The brick wall came at her again and she grinned. Again she leapt for the Turk. Elena fought back, her training struggling against her surprise and guilt.
Tifa waited for it, left an opening that no fighter could have refused. The kick was delightful and the ground forced the air out of her lungs.
"Why are you doing this?" Hands and knees keeping the brunette down, eyes widening as they spotted the blood that tainted the fallen rain. "I've hurt you."
"That was the point." She smiled. "You fight well."
"I could have killed you, was that too a part of your plan?"
"No." She shook her head and the smile grew on her face. "I needed defeat. A worthy opponent."
"To lose to a human?"
"Yes. Just that."´
