Sometimes you can listen to music and then sometimes you LISTEN to music.
I was driving home tonight and Lyin' Eyes come on by the Eagles. Now I've heard this song many of times before but this time I was really listening intently to the lyrics. It's really a kind of touching song. I mean in a way that is really sad. About how far she's gone from where she used to be and how things are so crazy in her life now. I thought it was quite moving.
I also heard the newest Depeche Mode song on the radio, Sinner in Me. I was kind of dissapointed to say the least. It sounded like Nine Inch Nails with sub-par lyrics. I personally like Precious much better.
Another song that I've really grown a liking to is Where are You by Our Lady Peace.
I really hate it when songs have really awesome intros but the rest of the song is lacking. Franz Ferdinand's debut song is the ones that hit me off the top of my head.
I was also listening to The Cats in the Cradle on my way out of Windsor. For most of the song the son wanted to be like his father who it seemed had no time for him. He was proud of his son but it didn't seem like he had much time to spend with him. At the end of the song the father mentioned that his son had "grown up just like me." My question is, was that a good thing or bad thing?
Lastly, if any of you get the chance, Listen to I like Pina Colata's. We all know the chorus (are they still called that?) but have any of you really listened to the rest of the song. My mom pointed this out to me. It's kind of neat.
