SPECIALITY JOB CLASS RATING BOOTH!

OVERVIEW
This is a Speciality/Secondary Job Class Rating! Those sorted in ff_land know that they're either a Soldier (+ Warrior/Knight), Thief (+ Ninja), Monk, Dragoon, Black Mage (+ Red Mage), or White Mage (+ Summoner)...but, what about their Speciality? Like Prishe from FFXI and Dissidia 012 who is both a Monk and White Mage...what would an applicant's unique Job Class combination be? A Thief and a Seer? A White Mage and a Bard? Taking out the jobs already covered in ff_land's original sorting, this rating will showcase the many other jobs found in the Final Fantasy series!

STAMP SAMPLE & EXPLANATION
>> All stamps will be personalized for the applicant...as part of the "prize" for the booth! We ask on the application if there is a name or nickname the applicant would prefer having on the stamp (otherwise, we'll just go with their username!)...and if they were stamped in ff_land and what their team is if they were. Non-ff_landers can still participate if they'd like to (to see about the Sorting side of ff_land!), but they have to put "Freelancer" on their application for the purposes of their stamp.

>> Anyways...the stamps will look something like this:

HOW & WHERE TO POST APPLICATIONS
>> WAY #1: have applicants for this booth join and watch this ivalice_rating! That way, all of the applications are in one easy to find place and won't flood the *actual* Garden Festival comm or the f-lists of people not participating in the booth. So, without further ado...we present: ivalice_rating! We made it so ivalice_rating has Open Membership and allows posts from anyone, not just members! We will ask that applicants to the comm leave their applications public, at least until stamped so people who are not members of the comm can see them and vote if they'd like to participate!

>> WAY #2: for those who would prefer *not* watching/joining another comm for the duration of the festival...you can post your application in a comment to the booth itself (just make sure to vote on everyone!)! We'll try to link to your comment applications on ivalice_rating so that those watching the comm will know to vote on them as well. ♥

>> Basically: all the major rules, Job Class List, Stamped List, and application itself will be found on *this* Booth Post. ivalice_rating just serves as a convenient way for participants to post their applications, vote on others, and for us to keep the booth organized!

RULES
>> If you participate in this booth, you must VOTE on others! No posting an application and just disappearing while expecting others to just vote...that's not fair! Rating activities only work when all members participate. You must be willing to at least vote when you can!

>> BOLD your votes so they're easier to see (Ex.: I think Blue Mage is a good fit for you because...).

>> NO BASHING! You can mention why you wouldn't want a certain Job Class when prompted in the application (so long as you're not mocking it or the characters that represent it!), but don't respond to votes by saying you hate what you were given. That's just rude!

>> With that in mind, voters should pay attention to the question about what Job Class the applicant *wouldn't* want and *try* NOT TO VOTE IT. There are more than enough Job Class options on the list that you shouldn't have to focus in on the one the applicant specifies not wanting, lolz. Be courteous to the applicant! *If* you feel that the job the applicant specifies not wanting is still the best fit, you can vote it so long as you give a *valid* reason! Something that won't be tolerated: "You don't want to be a Gambler because you hate basing things off luck, but I'm voting Gambler anyways! *TROLL*" But, if you vote with an actual reasoning, that would be fine. XD

>> Personalized stamps = SPECIFICALLY FOR THE APPLICANT. Pay attention to the question about what name you want on your stamp because that will be what is put on your stamp, lolz. If left blank, we'll just go with your LJ username! Also, if you've been stamped and sorted at ff_land, make sure to mention your Job Class! Those not sorted at ff_land should put "Freelancer" on their application. XD

>> If you don't mind joining/watching another comm for the duration of the Garden Festival, then post your application to ivalice_rating. It has Open Membership and Posting Access for everyone, so as long as you keep your entry public you'll be able to receive votes from those just watching the comm (and even those not watching it!).

>> For those who would prefer *not* watching/joining another comm, you can still participate! Just post your application in a comment to the booth itself with the subject line "Application"...it will probably take multiple comments, so just be sure to reply to each comment you make for the application so they can all stay in one thread. We'll link to the thread over at ivalice_rating so those watching the comm will know to vote on the comment applications here at the booth!

>> Applications will be stamped after they receive a MINIMUM of five votes, with a majority of three votes for the same Job Class in those cases. So far though, it seems as if the booth is more active than we initially thought it would be...so, ideally, we will hold off on using the bare minimum to see if someone can get a pretty clear majority with more votes. As far as ties go, we will be doing tie-breaker mentions. In the rare case of *that* not working, we will probably just make the applicant two stamps.

JOB CLASS LIST & DESCRIPTIONS FOR THE BOOTH*
Mime
~Mimes rely on copying the abilities of fellow party members. They have no innate abilities of their own.

Festival-Goer (Party Host from The 4 Heroes of Light and Mascot from FFX-2 as well)
~A job class for those who like to celebrate! Utilizes either physical or magical abilities (or both, depending on the character). Tends to focus on being more festive and fun with weapons such as fans or rice balls.

Gambler / Lady Luck / Corsair (Trickster from FFTA2 fits as well)
~Gamblers rely on luck and chance in a fight. Usually, their attacks consist of effects that can be extremely powerful if successful...but extremely detrimental if unsuccessful. Unconventional weapons are the norm for this class, using items associated with gambling such as dice and playing cards. Their innate ability is Slots.

Chemist / Alchemist / Salve-Maker (Wayfarer, Merchant, & Seamstress from The 4 Heroes of Light as well)
~A job that utilizes item usage. They tend to have exclusive usage of certain items and often have the ability to Mix two items into one, as well double the effects of recovery items. They can also heal for free. Weapons consist of rods, daggers, and guns.

Beastmaster / Trainer (Puppetmaster, Animist & Chocobo Knight as well)
~A job that usually relies on physical stats. Beastmasters catch and control monsters. They rely on different weapons depending on the game!

Assassin
~A job that focuses on stealth and quickness to take out opponents efficiently, often sacrificing defense to increase speed. They can also attack from a long distance with bows if the battle gets too hectic.

Seer (Arithmetician, Sage, & Scholar as well)
~This job class specializes in both White and Black Magic as well as physical attacks. However, they are an advanced job and can even follow up magic spells with physical attacks in the same turn given their Magick Frenzy ability. They are known for having great MP recovery abilities and for very rarely needing the help of MP recovery items.

Necromancer (Shaman from The 4 Heroes of Light as well)
~A job class that utilizes Dark Arts spells. Those in this job can be hurt by recovery items in battle, but healed fully by spells such as Death.

Blue Mage / Gun Mage (Morpher as well)
~A job class that utilizes Blue Magic (magic that allows the user to gain exclusive abilities from enemies). In some cases, the Blue Mage learns the abilities when the attacks are used on them...in others, they simply learn them from the enemy. Blue Mages tend to have very good offensive/defensive stats and are often capable physical fighters.

Green Mage (Time Mage, Oracle, & Mystic as well)
~The second most physically powerful Mage job, Green Mages have very low Magic stats in comparison to other Mages. However, their main focus on status effects prove immensely beneficial and positive to their allies while debilitating to their enemies.

Geomancer (Elementalist as well)
~A job class that deals primarily with the elements and environment. They can't be hurt by environmental hazards such as lava. With their Terrain skill they can gain special attacks based on the land the party is fighting on. Their weapons are usually bells.

Archer / Hunter / Sniper (Ranger & Gunner as well)
~Physical fighters that utilize long-range weapons and attacking from a distance. The weapons vary depending on the technology of the world they're in, but they all utilize some form of the Barrage and Aim skills.

Cannoneer (Flintlock as well)
~A job class that utilizes cannons! They usually give random status effects to targets when their attacks land.

Machinist / Engineer / Gadgeteer / Tinker
~A job class that is known for their knowledge and expertise on technology and abilities to handle certain weapons/devices.

Bard (Musician from The 4 Heroes of Light as well)
~Singers who often use musical instruments like the Harp in battle. They place positive status effects on their party and often have the ability to Hide, becoming invincible against physical attacks.

Dancer (Songstress from FFX-2 as well)
~Dancers often equip daggers and, like the Bard class, create status effects. Their status effects tend to be negative towards enemies though. They also have cure abilities.

Orator (Scribe & Storyteller from The 4 Heroes of Light as well)
~Sometimes utilizing guns, although this job's main weapon of choice is their voice! They can recruit both monsters and human characters into the party by their words alone.

Mystic Knight / Spellblade / Spell Fencer
~The Mystic Knight is skilled in both magic and swordsmanship. They can fuse both White Magic and Black Magic into their swords for powerful attacks.

Paladin / Holy Knight (Templar & Defender as well)
~A strong physical fighter, the Paladin fights with a heavy sword. However, they also utilize White Magic and are known for their Cover ability...protecting allies who have low HP during battle.

Dark Knight / Dark Fencer (Lanista as well)
~Dark Knight is the counter-balance to the Paladin. They utilize dark energy with their sword and often have very high physical stats. Their Souleater ability allows them to sacrifice HP in order to have stronger attacks.

Psychic
~A job that utilizes both mental energy and the laws of physics for attacks. Psychics can reposition themselves on the battlefield and have the abilities to null both physical and magical attacks.

Berserker
~A job with extremely high physical stats! Berserkers are always in Berserk status in the games and are often not controllable by the player.

Samurai / Parivir (Fencer as well)
~A swordsman class that is often associated with the Gil Toss ability: an ability that allows the opponent to receive damage by having the Samurai toss their money at them. They can nullify attacks and can lower enemy stats.

Gladiator / Hero (Ravager & Viking as well)
~A heavy hitting job all about dealing damage. While powerful, this job also has lower accuracy and defense compared to other physical fighter classes.

*NOTE: this is the condensed list we came up with for the stamping that excludes jobs found in the regular rating for ff_land. We tried to group them together as best we could if they were somewhat similar...and we removed the "higher-up" versions of some of the ff_land ones (such as Black Belt, Devout, or Holy Dragoon). This way, applicants won't be getting an almost identical job to what they already are! We also didn't do the jobs found in FFXIII or FFXIV, as they're very similar to either the basic job classes in ff_land or many of the other ones from earlier games. :) The list has been condensed down to 24 Job Classes!

PRIZES
Well, the main prize is the personalized stamp for each applicant! We're also thinking of including a special banner for the Top 3 voters (meaning: the participants who vote the most on other applications!). ♥

As far as points and gil go: 5 points for voting on an application & 100 gil for voting/posting an application.

MANY THANKS TO lightofeilia, sunflower_mynah, the_404_error, thedrowned, & chacusha FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP WITH THOUGHTS ON HOW TO APPROACH THIS RATING BOOTH! ♥ ...Hopefully, we were able to incorporate everyone's thoughts as best we could to help this booth run more smoothly. We really appreciate it! XD
